After missing all the glorious weather we've been having recently i was so glad to get out today and get some pictures of #007

She's no longer a teenage miler, took this picture friday night, but i'm loving every minute of it.

After picking her up four weeks ago i decided to get the front bumper and wheels re-painted. The bumper had a stone chip the size of half a 50p piece that attracted your eye as soon as you knew it was there [smilie=icon_cry.gif] You can just about make out "bleu" and "7" on the slam panel :)

The wheels i got powdercoated since the finish on them was shocking and could surely only be achieved by applying paint with a sponge! According to the guys at the powdercoaters they said thay'd been done black at some point :s No pics of the bumper on its own but here's the wheels all done and sealed, ready for re-fitting.

To go with the p**s poor finish on the alloys was random, what can only be overspray, silver paint on the calipers.... :s Confused the heck outta me to be honest! Some nitromors and steel woool got the vast majority of it off anyway. Going to get the calipers painted at some point but no way am i missing any more fine weather just now

Came across the issue of the Cliosport grille being different to the v6 Cliosport grille... I'd replaced the grille since the old one had a crack between two of the plastic cross-sections. It'd been glued at some point but the sun had turned it yellowish. Having already fitted the front bumper there was no danger i was taking it off to fit a proper V6 one again so out with the tools again, soon the bonnet sensor hole was cut :approve: Have also replaced the front indicator bulbs for silver ones, its the subtle changes that work the best i reckon

Getting there and plate transferred off retention [smilie=yay.gif]

So since i didnt actually have any pictures of the vee in one piece, it was a really nice day so i took my wee brother to take some scenic pictures down by the Forth Rail Bridge [cmilie=iconcheers.gif] so glad to have it back, the soundtrack behind your seat, the kick in the back when you have some open road and the attention it gets. Love it, so glad I didnt go for a vxr8 now - as it is there's two of them go about town

Great to see people sorting bits out, and doing jobs themselves (often done better yourself)

Nice pics too, especially the last one. :approve:

I'm not sure. When the guy phoned me from the powdercoaters to let me know how they were progressing they said as they were being dipped thye went from silver to black to silver. I just presumed he meant they had been painted twice, ie silver over black over the standard silver.

Anyway, they're back, much better finish and more metallic than before. Just dont want to get them dirty now since the inside of the wheels can be a pain to reach and remove the brake dust

Very nice!! looks immacukate and the best colour for the MkII

I was on the other side of the bridge on Saturday night :salut:

I waved but you didnt see me [smilie=icon_cry.gif] haha!

Its in not bad nick paint wise, definately in need of a detail though. Some surface swirls and scarts to polish out... Plenty time for all that though. Just glad to finallty own one after wanting one for so long.

The emigration forced sale when it comes is going to be a tough one, but even if i was to get one shipped over to canada then I'd be better selling this one and buying a european one. Left hand drive and speedo in KMH as standard just make life easier, specially in a car as special as the vee. Last thing i want is to have an accident cause i didnt see someone properly :violin:

Be warned Europeans ones are going at least twice or up to three times the value of those here [smilie=icon_eek.gif]

The gap between the english and the Euros does seem to be closing, helped by the state of the Euro currently, but is still realatively big.

£20,000 pounds appears to be bottom end money for a LHD phase 2, £25,000+ for a decent one.

£13000 - £17000 for a LHD phase 1

i keep seeing loads of our RHD vees for sale on the continent, we are clearly selling them too cheap!

Ouch! [smilie=icon_eek.gif]

£10k for the sake of having LHD...? I think my minds made up and moneys safe
