some info for the drivers with bad coils and cam belts

I had a coil problem two months ago. It had to go to the dealer because it had 80000 km(is 55000 miles i think) on the clock. So time to change the cam belt. After a phone call of the dealer they told me that there was a crack in the body just above the rear subframe. :( . Was pretty strange because the car hadn't been in an accident before. Maybe production fault or so. But renault france came to look at the crack. After all it is repaired under warenty. :D Front discs have also been changed and also the front brake pads. Maybe a tip for some of the other V drivers. When you are going to change the cam belt make sure that the dealer checks everything. Because after a full check of my car they came to the conclusion that the rear "torsion bar"(don't know the correct english word for it, but in dutch it is spoorstang) that keeps the engine in ballance was bad. (maybe it was therefore that the car had a little bid a wobeling feeling). Now the main reason that i type this story is because it al started with a coil problem and that coil problem wasn't a problem of bad coils but a bad sensor. :! . Maybe usefull for others to check the sensor first. :approve: After all i have my V back, had to miss it for a month. And have to it say, drives a lot better than before. :D

Thanks for the information.

In both my cases the coils did show up as a fault and there fore wereb replaced.

My V6 has always been serviced due to mileage and not age, except for the cam belt. This will be done shortly and will be before 72k and less than 5 years.

I have always maintained a high mileage correctly serviced is better than low mileage and serviced on an age system.

Neve, never buy a car from a Doctor. All start / stop mileage.
