They are a weak point it has to be said. Part of the problem is actually down to a design fault by Renault. The problem is the actual strut housing obstructs the top mount, meaning it knocks when turning in tight spaces (in most cases). There have been a few suggestions to try and help this, one of which is fitting two little washers (one each side) to raise the hight of the rubber/metal donut itself. Renault's solution was to grind out the strut tops to make more room [smilie=icon_eek.gif] and no i'm not joking!
I spoke to Scott (SG Motorsport) only yesterday morning about buying suspension.
He advised to go KW and at the end of the conversation he said to buy some alloy Top Mounts to do away with the horrible rubber as the setting up is compromised with this bad Renault design.
