Car is booked in with Scott at the beginning of Feb to do the cambelt change, also having a new clutch fitted to my mk2 box and a Janspeed exhaust.

Scott assures me everything will be done to the highest standard and i have every faith in him as he seemed a really nice guy everytime iv spoke to him.

I will have some bits forsale when i have had the work done - Mk1 gearbox (nothing wrong with it at all, only changing to upgrade to mk2) K-tec rear box (original with a small dent in) and my decat pipes. These will appear in the forsale section once they are off the car.

Steve ( soon to be a lot lighter in the pocket)

Your in safe hands! Scott is a good guy. He's well known on here, and he knows his stuff!

Highly recommended. :thumleft:

My Vee will be winging its way back down to his barn for discs and pads over the coming weeks.

Peter :D

MIne will be heading down to SG around April time when the cars first mot is due - get a full tune up before MOT time :D

Got my car back today from Scotts, and i have to say what an amazing job he has done with my car.

The drive home felt like i was in a new v6. :D

Scott had the car for a week, sat - sat. Here is the list what work i have had done -

1 cambelt kit
1 water pump
1 aux belt
1 clutch kit
1 slave cylinder
1 seal kit/ air con/power steering/clutch
2 gearbox oil (silkolene syn 5)
2 exhaust manifold gaskets
1 air con pipe

I supplied a mk2 gearbox and had full Janspeed exhaust system fitted.

Scott was in regular contact with me during the week keeping me update with progress and any problems. 1 that he did find was 1 of 1 air con pipes had corroded. He duly contact told me the options i had and i had a new fitted which Scott supplied.

I would like to say a big thanks to Scott @ SG motorsport for the work he has done and i would defo recommend SG to any of you guys off our forum.

I will be back to you soon Scott for the bits i talked to you about today as soon as iv got some cash again.

Anybody intrested in some of the parts taken from my car please see the forsale section.

Cheers Scott - a very happy vee owner

Steve :D :D

Car has been down @ SG motorsport again ....

Had a few bits and pieces done.

- New alarm plips and recode.
- Mk2 plenum supplied, fitted and all modifications done to fit a mk1 engine. (Breathers wiring plugs etc are all different)
- New piperX viper evo (replacing my old smaller viper)
- MOT
- Investigate and rectify side pod fans not working.

Have to say yet again top service from scott. He really knows his stuff and pulled out all the stops to get my car ready on time. Even working late on a fri night to get the car running with the new bits.

So advice to vee owners - Anybody worried about taking their car to a dealer or back street garage DON'T. Just go to see Scott. He has quite a bit parts in stock and can advice you on most things for your car individually to your needs.

Cheers again Scott

:approve:

Just out of interest where is SG Motorsport, as i need to get a few bits done?

I dont mind travelling as long as i know the car is in good hands :approve:

Wiltshire. Not to far from Bristol.

It is a distance for my too. All round trip from door to door fom mine is 320 miles.

Scott is a top bloke and knows his stuff. I trust him with my car 110% and would not let anyelse touch it apart from him.

Steve

Don't know it off the top of my head.

Best thing to do is go on his website and give him a buzz on monday. Speak to him direct.

Oh and Scott told me the car flew the MOT. Even with the Janspeed sports cats no probs with the emissions. For those who are considering changing.

:D

Another trip down to SG last week, collecting new brake pads and discs all round, new plastic scuttle panel and trophy front splitter.

Having a good chat and cup of tea with Scott, i finally left with all the bits i had planned on getting. He had advised me on a few things which i asked about and in general a good catch up with him.

Standard brand new reno discs front and rear.
Mintex 1144 fast road front pads.
Rear standard pads.

Having attempted fitting the following day, i had discovered my handbrake was only operating on 1 side. The hand was working, the lever on the calipers moving but on the N/S the piston was not operating under the handbrake. Only the foot break. So it was the caliper handbrake mechanism at fault. A call to Scott on the monday had me purchasing a new N/S rear caliper.

I also had a new thermostat as i had some doubts that mine was intermittently working correctly. I have today fitted the new parts and so far so good, but only drove 20 miles so far so i cannot really comment.

Cheers Scott once again for top service and advice. [smilie=bowdown.gif]

I don't need one yet :) I was just considering a ball park figure heh, as my handbrake is a bit lame. Less than £500?

Dan

Yes, Reno new is around 360 ball park figure. Not 100% on second prices, as said before speak to Scott.

Why don't you adjust the handbrake cable? Or it could be something similar like mine if 1 side is failing.

You need to investigate.
