Selling/pricing advice

This is a difficult post and was not sure where to put it as it’s not a for sale post yet.

Normally I’d just put a car up for sale using forums and auto trader as a guide but as you know our cars are a little different and mine is also that little bit more hard to price so I’m hoping for some feed back.

Anyway 2 days ago on my 46th birthday I got diagnosed with skin cancer, apart from any treatment will be palliative I don’t know much more until further biopsy’s and consultations.

As much as I want to keep my Vee with it being my dream car growing up and it would be nice to leave to my wife and children I fear it would be left in the garage for many years and the money would be better spent sooner rather than later.

So it’s a ph1, No 457, iceberg silver, KW V3 Coilovers, Janspeed Exhaust, Sabelt Renault Sport Steering Wheel, BG removable boss, CDA carbon air box, mk2 gearbox, trophy (replica but fits perfectly) spoiler, brand new tyres and immaculate alloys.
It’s had new plugs and coils packs a few miles ago and cam belt, water pump and service etc at Mark fish in 2017. It’s on 69k and done 3k since the work.
It’s had paint to tidy it up and looks very good for its age, the whole underside was cleaned and Dinitrol treated last year.
It has 2 keys with working central locking, a massive folder of history, drives faultlessly.
The only negatives are the centre console around the radio has gone sticky and it has a tiny door chip on each door which I will try and get done (gutted about those)

Any help on pricing will be appreciated as it will probably be advertised in the coming weeks.

Sorry to hear about this. Have you considered the collecting cars website, a few have sold recently and may cause less issues than selling privately, viewings, no shows etc.

sorry about your crap news.
As you don't know much detail yet I would only suggest take your time selling the Vee as Spring is always better for prices especially as you have something unique.
best regards

Judging by the recent sales in the £30k region for lower milers its got to be in the high £20's, maybe £27.5k starting price with room for negotiation?

Awful news! My heart goes out to you.

Very difficult decision, particularly given the dedication you’ve committed to making it right.

My opinion is that you should make sure that you prioritise your well-being and if the fun factor of the Vee is important, then keep it.

Selling would only ever be a case of instructing the right person or company to attend to matters.

Sorry to here about this news. I'll be in the market for a v6 in the next 2/4 weeks. I've PM'd you with my details.

Sorry to hear this.

As others have said, it is a case of evaluating your priorities until you know more and then make an informed judgement on whether or not you need to part with the Vet.

The auction route may be the most hassle free route.

Not an easy decision. Wish you all the best.
