21 Turbo Selling my Quadra - advice on recommissioning ahead of time

Hi All!

I've been a bit quiet on here lately due to lots going on at work and home and too many car projects! Hence the desire to sell my Quadra.

I need to recommission it ahead of selling it. Right now I believe the turbo is faulty - getting oil and water mixing, despite brand new oil cooler. The head gasket checks out fine.

It may or may not be the turbo, but I've removed it anyway as it was very badly cracked and I think it could do with reconditioning.

I have a couple of options:

  1. Recondition the original turbo
  2. Fit the T34 turbo that I bought from @DaveL485 a few years ago
The T34 doesn't need to be adapted for the exhaust manifold but it does need a new exhaust elbow manufacturing. Obviously to take full advantage of the T34, an aftermarket ECU would be a good idea. However, that's not something I want to entertain ahead of selling the car.

Should I: a) recondition and refit the original turbo; or b) fit the T34, with a new elbow?

If you were buying the car, what would you like to see? I'm not sure what to do ahead of selling it.

How much will this Quadra be once it recommissioned ? I have a K plate 21 turbo and a J plate 5gt turbo which I may consider selling the both to free up a bit of space as I also have to many projects lying about and that leave room for a Quadra 😃 if you could let me know how much it would be mate I would appreciate it - I may just ad it to the collection any way 👍
