Seat runners switch

Hi all

Ive started to fit my Recaros and so far taken the driver seat out by removing the centre console and getting to the nuts on the runners, seat belt tensioners & underseat wires. So I dont need to get under the car I'll leave the std runners in place.

Can anybody tell me what the micro switch midway up the inner seat runner is for?

I allways thought it was to deploy the airbag at half power???
so when the typical woman driver has the seat so far forward there face is 2inch from steering wheel the airbag won't deploy at full pressure
Plz correct me if I'm wrong

that would make sense, i just cant see anything on the runner to operate it. no matter where the runner is on the rail.

I'm pretty sure Captain is right, it's to deploy the air bag at lower pressure if the seat is far forward.

That's why there's additional plugs on the airbag when compared to phase 1.

Hmm you've got me thinking there Ian, I can't actually remember what that's for. I do seem to recall removing it though and then refitting it?! It's riveted on isn't it?

Have you followed any of this guide so far? It does mention the micro switch but not what it's for!

yes its riveted in. ive removed and refitted too. The fact I cant see it contacting anything is why I ask incase ive lost a bit and not noticed!
