Looks fantastic Duncan and someone have clearly got their thinking cap on. Toyota starlet/glanza engine I imagine. Mg metty is good for 300hp but only "reliable" upto around 150hp. The jap lump is good for well over 300hp and very light weight. I suspect it will hanfle like its on rails now. Get more pics Dunc!

I thought it might be of interest to you Brett!

Found the project thread:

LINK

says its a toyota engine, so guess its likely a Glanza engine.

Good find! While not my choice of engine, it's better to see one rebuilt and running again rather than scrapped completely.

Depends how you look at it. It might need to compete in a class where you either run a 1.8 or 2.0 n/a engine or a smaller turbocharged one of around 1.3 using the x 1.4 basis as a rule. The power to weight ratio of those little engines can be pretty jaw dropping so combine that with a big tyre foot print and it being mid/rear engine, he's probsbly got a very good competition car.
