robbing dirty mulit car discount

Hi all just had the renewal through for my 3 cars. To cut a long story , i have been with admiral for a couple of years and they have always seemed quite competitive. I dont know what there after services are like and hopefully wont find out. There multi car discount which i have had is a load of poo as after searching a compare site individually on my cars based on the same details plus another years ncb admiral were cheaper insuring the cars individually. After speaking to a lady in canada (very nice and polite) i just saved 170 squid on the vee alone and altogether almost 400 quid on the 3 cars. I know i am getting older now but £275 for the vee is pretty good i think!! Wish tax would come down too lol It does p me off though that they dont send you the cheapest quote to start off with !!

I had the Vee on an Admiral Multi-Car for a year and then the price for it went through the roof.
As I don't do many miles in it I moved it onto a Hagerty policy and saved quite a lot.

You do need to keep an eye on Motor Insurance companies.
They really want you to just renew without checking around.

I had the same issue this year. Both cars were with Admiral, premium came back £300 dearer after 1 year!!

Now with Aviva multicar and very reasonable :)

Ive just saved £500 off my multi car policy moving from Admiral to Aviva the vee is £230.99, does have a big excess tho (£650). Still with a £500 saving im pleased overall

My Vee is on a classic 'limited milage/agreed value' cover but I've just renewed the multi-car cover on the 2 work horses.
Had to call them up and point out that the premium they allocated on one car was more than they would charge for that car alone via a 'comparison site'.
The other car was just a bit cheaper with them.
So they put on various discounts and saved me £40 over their original quote.
I could probably have pushed them down a bit more but had to run off to a meeting.

Ive had endless amounts of arguments on the phone with Admiral. I had my Nissan 350z insured with Admiral and they realised I had 2 other cars. So they were sure they could offer me a cheaper deal via multicar and I told them they couldnt.

So, off they go and sure enough, each of the 5 times they have checked it is actually cheaper for me to insure all 3 cars separately with different companies. Including having no NCB on one of the other cars.

Where Admiral really also make their cash is that, say you insure car 1 with them now and opt for their multi car policy, you then have to insure car 2 with them in 5 months when its policy is up for renewal. This means that if they dont offer the best priced premium for car 2 in 5 months time and you decide to go elsewhere, they firstly fine you some cash for leaving the multi car policy, plus jack the premium of car 1 up. Its just far to much hassle.

If they allowed you to use your NCB on more than 1 car then it might work out cheaper, but as it is, in the UK, NCB is on the car rather than on the driver. Hence I now have 4 seperate insurance policies with 4 different companies to cover my vehicles!

Same boat here, just need to get to january to get 2yrs ncb on the evo, then swap that with the 6yrs on the V6 and i'll be saving mega money. Whether 2 or 6yrs ncb can get the vee for £450, however the evo drops nearly £700!! Going to save almost £1000 this next yr on insurance compared to last.

I've been with Adminal for years now and after a bit of pushing they always end up the cheapest...I like their customer service team too, i had a lass from Canada too and she was great!

Exactly the same, my insurance runs out this month and managed to get the vee for £630.04 at 23 with six years no claims. The other car is very reasonable so I've paid the renewal infront.

I double checked against Adrian Flux who couldn't match it.

Also customer service is great at Admiral, my R32 was a cat b write off two years ago and admiral were amazing during a difficult time. However, as it was 100% no fault found I had to deal with the other party (NFU Mutual) who were terrible!! Wouldn't let those pirates handle safety sissors let along my well being
