Renault 5 Gtx

Hi

I have a 1988 renault 5 gtx and read somewhere that it has the same brake and suspension set-up as the GT turbo. Does anyone know if this is right?

Thanks

I don't think they are tbh, Am pretty sure the GT Turbo set up is far stiffer than the GTX, Although the Renault 5 GTE 1.7 has the same set up as GT turbo.

Thanks, Not heard much about the GTE, was that the model made available to countries who's emission standards where too strict for the GT turbo?

The suspension set up is mildly different, the GT turbo has an open style torsion bar where as the GTX /Monaco has the enclosed type.

The brake set up is different as the GTX has drums at the rear whilst the GT turbo has discs.

Yes, the GTE was not sold in the UK, but looks exactly the same as the GT Turbo, and shares the suspention, and possibly the brakes.

But has the 1.7 engine rather than the 1.4 turbo
