I need some new discs.
Am i right in thinking i can take the ABS ring off my old discs and put it on say some Clio 16v rear discs?
Or would the rear discs have to be ABS specifics to allow for fitment.
The land on the back of the disc to carry the ring is the same so you can fit either (discs are not specific), but a Bendix system wont read/work with a Bosch ring and vice versa. Bosch rings have 32 teeth and Bendix rings have 48 teeth iirc.
Clio 16V discs are the same as 19 16V ones, yes. BTW virtually all discs have the ABS land machined on the back, whether they are listed as ABS discs or not.
Brilliant, cheers for that.
Will use some new Clio ones a friend has, and swap the rings over.
Was rather surprised to see a large crack in my current disc
The calipers have been recently unseized and look to be fine still.
Discs look very old though.
Looking at the discs now i can see how the ABS ring would come off. Fingers crossed it will cooperate lol.
