Rear bumper

Hello

Recently bagged a genuine bumper from eBay as a spare. It arrived this morning, won't cost much to get tip top but I noticed it has "mesh" grills. The bumper is Illiad blue, my question is... Could this be a ph1 Illiad bumper ? And would it fit a ph2?

Cheers in advance [smilie=thanks.gif]

There was an Illiad ph1 written off end of last year. Really nice car too!! One of the last 'good' ones. Duncan will be able to tell you more :)
Is it the same Illiad as yours? I'm led to believe there are 3? iirc, shades of Illiad :s

Saw that one on eBay and thought someone off here may have won it.

It won't have the screw holes for plastic grills...but I think mossy's bumper is a phase1. Should go on ok pal.

Difficult to tell at moment until I can get it outside in the sun with mine. Are the ph1 & ph2 rear bumpers the same size though? Ie if this is a ph1 will it for straight on mine if ever needed?

Yep should be same

Cheers Matt! Just checked no holes so it's def ph1... Grills
Looked to be welded on lol I think it's some weird adhesive

I clipped mne off phase1. Go for the open bumper look :approve: easy to swp rear bumpers over once lights are out pal

Spotted it also ;)
Wayne thought it was collection only??
It arrived this morning

Yes, it will fit a Ph2 if it's off a Ph1 ;)
The one I modified was off a Ph1 but never offered up the plastic grills so wouldn't know if they are an exact fit, might be worth trying them before if your thinking of getting it painted. Plus as Matt mentioned you'll need to drill some fixing holes for the grills.

That's right Wayne... The mesh is bonded on. I didn't realise this either until I saw one at Scott's the other week and queried it with him. Learning something new about these cars all the time! :)

Thanks everyone!

Yes collection only but discussed with him about using a courier....did you know 90% of mainstream couriers won't collect and deliver car bumpers?

Anyways I've got a few ideas for it, either:

1: Get it tip top and modify it to fit the ph2 grills
2: Get it tip top and have it without the grills
3: Get it tip top and modify it ala Full Trophy style

Either way I better get it tip top first

To be fair there's only a slight split of the paint either side of the number plate lamp holder and a slight scuff on the bottom. Shouldn't cost much to have it done and resprayed! :approve:

I believe so Iain, yes

I want an illiad ph1! I love the open rear bumper with the right exhaust. Word of warning though, if you do go down that road, make sure you make a pair of supporting brackets. It makes the bumper much less flimsy.

I did wonder which car it was from when i saw the ebay auction, possibly from #244. It is definately a phase 1 bumper though.

#244 was broken for spares, It was a cat-b so couldnt be put back on the road. I did read on here that the remains of it were brought and it is now in Poland.
