rear badge location ?

Chris V6

New Member
Does anyone know or have the measurements of where the rear badges should go i.e Renault and sport ones as mine were taken off when the car was detailed now need to put them back but got to be in the correct place or the badge police will have me !!

Lol my poor cat !

Yep I have the tool for the V6 one as it came with the new one, but the ones on the otherside dont have anything to locate them. I will await shauns input (so to speak !)

You bunch of urine taking people of unknown fathers... ;) Its just nice to get things something like right eh.. :)

I've been asked this a few times now, and indeed someone else is currently waiting for me to get my finger out and sort out some sort of template or measurements.. Like you Chris, mine were also removed for detailing. So to make sure they went back in exactly the right place (as far as plausibly possible), I measured the position of badges on about half a dozen cars that were known to have original badges undisturbed from new. Why so many..? Because i found some minor variations (i'm talking millimeters). It was with this info I replaced my badges. :)

Only issue is digging out my measurements, or possibly just measuring the possition of mine, as I'm pretty confident I remember what they are off the top of my head anyway.. sad eh.. lol The key is from where the measuremnts are taken from and the correct sequence of application to ensure the best possible job.

Get ready with some low tack masking tape, a tap measure, a biro/pen, and some patience. Not just for me getting back to you all with details/template but to fit the badges! [smilie=thanks.gif]

There's also a PDF description from Renault's on this subject. Runs off to search the archives.. :approve:

Thanks I shell hang on and wait further input. Many thanks, and at least it will be somthing else to add to thje knoledge base !!!

I am also on the case Shaun..

Ive contacted a local vinyl wrap co. local to me in Sidcup. Awaiting an answer, but they will possibly produce a piece of re-usable vinyl for use as a template for all four badges. Just hope my current badges are correct..

-just tape in place for all four locations..

I will post and make available if they agree.

Vinyl Co. said theyd make two re-usable templates, one for each side. which can be taped in position or by static.

using bottom edge of boot and edge of number plate as ref points.

Once done (tomorrow afternoon) I can easily produce paper copies for anyone to use. Just let me know?

:ihatpcs:
Didnt work. Just wasnt accurate, or they werent..
Back to tape and measurements!
Any one else had any luck yet?

Found this in the archives.

They state in Dutch;
The sparepart SPORT badge is self adhesive and will be delivered without a positioning pin on the back.
For the correct placement see measurements in millimeters below.

Somewhere else they also state that the "Renault" badge will be delivered with a positioning pin on the back. Can somebody confirm this?

Will search some more tomorrow

Nice find Adrian! :approve: This will be a great help for PH1 owners. On the PH1, the Renault badge is located by pins into pr-drilled holes with plugs in the boot lid.

On the PH2 v6, both the Renault and Sport badges are self adhesive, and the sport badge is located in a different position to the PH1 vee.

Have looked for a similar tech manual to the one Adrian posted. No joy I'm afraid. Copying the placement on a correct Vee is your best bet I guess.
