Re: The Gas Pedal

Hi guys

Do you guys feel the gas pedal of our Vee is the way too far and too low from the brake pedal? That makes it difficult to heel toeing downshift while barking. Is there any way to adjust the position of the gas pedal? Or an extended gas pedal like BMW and Porsche's would help. Please share your experience.
PS. attached is picture of the pedals of a Clio V6 Trophy, the distance and height between pedals are sensible for heel & toe.

That's not a V6 Trophy, that a clio 3 cup car, its easy to adjust the pedal though! you simple remove the retaining screw, pull off the arm and rotate the pedal on its splines to the desired position and refit the retaining screw - simple

Hi Fred

Thank you for posting. I will try to remove the retain screws of the pedal, it is simple as you said but I just do not understand what you mean "pull off the arm and rotate the pedal on it's splines". Please explain more detail. Thanks.
To me, the pedals position of the Clio 3 cup car is good, similar to the Peugeot 206 GTI I owned before.

I thought the same ;)

Hi Benjamin

Thank you for the picture. My friend who also owns a Vee he also uses this method to raise the gas pedal a liitle bit but he still has the problem to do heel & toe.
Perhaps a long gas pedal like this would help.

Hi Fred

Thank you for posting again, I will try to re-fit the pedal over the weekend. I will report if I have further question.

Adjusted the gas padel to my ideal position on last Saturday. I performed a road test yesterday and feel happy with the new pedal position. Thank you again to Fred and Mulgari for posted the pictures and information.

How did you adjust the pedal? I’ve removed the unit and the silver screw that you can see in the pic but can’t get any further.

I think once that silver screw is undone, the pedal arm can be pulled out and then re fitted in a different position on the splines- think wiper arms, similar principle. never tried it myself though.
