Re: Screws Inside The Engine Bay

Hi Everyone

I removed the engine bay covers today trying to clean up the dirts and dusts inside the engine compartment. I noticed there are some screws used to fix the engine bay covers are missing. I visited some stores which supply different types of screws in my city but I can't fine anything similar.
Would anyone please tell me where I can find the following screws. I need about 10 pieces each include some spares as inventory for future usage.

I would suggest you contact Paul at renaultpartsdirect, point out the items you need from this picture.

Hi James

Thank you for sending the useful information. I will contact Paul to get the mentioned screws next Monday.

I also needed those screws a while back.

I presume:
The middle photo are the ones that run across the back, visible when you remove the top cover (item 10 on James' diagram) ?
The bottom photo are the ones that hold the centre piece of the top cover just behind the seats ?

If so, the strange thing is that they are both the same part number according to Paul at RPD. We went ahead and ordered some to see what arrived, what came were the bottom photo ones for the top cover.
As such, Paul couldn't get the middle photo ones (item 10). The closest I could find anywhere were expensive, stainless steel ones from a german company (£15). Obviously they are silver not black.

If you do manage to get the right ones I would be interested to know.

Hi Chris

You are right on mentioning the middle and bottom screws. If I can't get the middle screw (item 10) from Paul, I will try to get it from Renault HK official dealer. I do not want silver color. I will keep you informed.

Screws and alike are a nightmare when it comes to trying to replace them like for like, you can find them and a part number but when they arrive they often look nothing like the original. I believe that over time Renault standardise parts meaning they change, some of the examples I have seen are stupidly different, if will go through my world’s most expensive screw collection as I am sure I have some of those and will get u a part number to try although I cant guarantee it will not have changed.

Hi Chris

A part number is great and helpful. Please advice.

Thanks

I brought about 20 of the ones in the middle photo from renault woking in the summer for a couple of pounds. They are the same as the 4 visable bolts that go in the rear bumper.

I'm after one of the ones in the bottom photo!

The part number for the bottom ones is definitely 77 03 026 055 - my spare one is sealed in the bag with that number.

Duncan - do you have the part number for those middle ones you got ?

The part number for the ones in the middle photo is definitely 77 03 008 162. Taken from the packet and confirmed on the receipt.
