Radio code not being accepted ?

Had to re-enter my radio security code after the battery was disconnected recently for some work (this is the first time the battery has been disconnected since i've had the car).

Found the code printed in the front of the service manual. worked out how to enter it. once all 4 digits are showing on the screen the instructions seem to be telling me to press the '5' button to confirm code but all I get is a beep.

Does this mean the code is incorrect ? is there any way the previous owner could have changed it ?

any advice before a trip to the dealer to sort would be appreciated.

Isnt it the "6" button you should be pressing at the end.

I had to enter mine a couple of days ago and i didn't need to press the '5' button. it was all done on the radio stalk. Have another read of the radio manual I thought it was pretty straight forward at the time.

ok read the manual again and tried the radio stalk method - messed it up once and the word 'ERROR' appears for a while and then code reappears. Second attempt got it correct and it worked.

No problem. It's nice to add something back to the community as I've asked for lots of help over the last few weeks while searching and learning about the vee.
