Pulled by the police.....

Was on my way to teach a class tonight and got waved down by a police car. Tbh I thought id get the whole, is that legal jargon but..... I got a huge apology that I'd been stopped and the officer admitted to abusing his powers so he could check out my car as he is an car enthusiast and never seen one in the flesh! How cool is that?! ok a big risk on his part but with a car like this you have to have a sense of humour right? Anyone else had this? We talked for ages! :race:

Once got stopped & a ticket ( was doing nigh on 210kph ) at 3am in Luxembourg.

As the police came up to the car I could hear them chatting away excitedly on their radio that they'd stopped a Vee & their first!

Despite the ticket ( & on the spot fine ) they were really rather polite & talked to me about the Vee, how fast it could go, the style & handling etc

I was really rather chuffed at the attention & compliments it got :)

130mph! That's going some. Did they just give you a ticket? That would be a lengthy ban over here.

I have yet to be pulled over by the Police, but as long as it was just to chat about the car I wouldn't really mind too much, just as long as I wasn't late getting anywhere.

OT really but, In France, years back in the Gordini Turbo. Pulled by the Gendarmes who's only interest was the Gordini badge on the back (car was badged an Alpine over there).

Was way back in 2002, was in a rush to get home & i was regularly pushing the Vee to the 200 mark, after all its meant to be driven & i liked to stretch its legs a little.

Back then there was no points system on their licenses just fines. Cost me about 475 euro as I remember. Things have changed now & it could possibly end in a short ban these days, depends which police catch you as they all apply their own judgement.

For me it's a civilised way to deal with it, just a fine.

A while back got pulled over for speeding down a slip road with no belt on.. anyway expected a ticket for the belt and something for the speed? But once chatting talk turned quickly on to the car, to which they were very complimentary! All the usuals Q's..

Then, Bad cop is about to write me a ticket for the no belt and asks for my address, it turns out we live down the same road and he says its my lucky day and ' you dont s**t on your neighbours'

Sends me on my way with 'slow down next time'!

Hows your luck [cmilie=iconcheers.gif]

I did a publicity stunt with the local newspapers and police last year, LINK

They were very complimentary when I was pulled by them a few weeks afterwards...

"You're that mind reader guy who did that prediction with us? That was brilliant! Really enjoyed it...by the way here's a £60 fine for illegal spacing on your plates"

Mind you I've been booked by the police for their Christmas party this year. I added £60 onto my usual fee ;)
