Protective film

Really not sure where to put this thread . . .

Anyway as some people may have known may car was detailed before Christmas and upon completion was picked up by a transporter destine for the storage unit. The detailer provided protective film as I didn't have my cover to go on it immediately after being dropped off so kindly gave this to cover the car. A couple of days later I placed my cover on the car but chose to leave the film on.

My question is would it be OK to leave it on the car? I didn't take a picture but this shows what I'm on about

I've seen a couple of stories on here of paint blistering so I thought I'd ask to place safe . . . originally thought more covers the merrier [cmilie=iconcheers.gif]

I'm going to see the car on Saturday purely to see it, been a month since it was dropped off :violin:

As James has pointed to on the link, if it isn't breathable then I wouldn't cover it with that as moisture will be trapped underneath it.

Only two exist in the UK, both are up for sale.

I love them but not sure if it's special enough to own. Anyway I need to buy a house first!

Saw one of these when I was at Santa Pod a couple of years ago. Not overawed by the exterior to be honest but the interior is a thing of beauty. Shame Renault didn't make the effort to differenciate the vee from the lesser models in the same way. Same oz wheels as the ph2 if I remember correctly, though different offset.

No links sorry Chris, neither is currently for sale on the general market.

The one pictured above was at Edition 38 this year (my younger brother confirmed this) and also spotted for sale on Pistonheads. This car doesn't have a plaque so I don't know what number it is however it was imported from Germany and all UK cars no longer exist in the UK.

Number 102 is the other car in the UK located in North Wales and was being offered between 12k to 14k but has a interesting history . . .

I'm like the Duncan of Beetle RSI's  the Beetle RSI is a car I nearly bought before the Clio but the ones being offered at the time weren't in as good condition as LY 264. I know of two currently in the UK imported from Germany, but I've heard rumours one is being stored somewhere although DVLA only shows two currently located in the UK . . . but I suppose it might not have been recorded properly when it was imported.
