Hi folks,

Drinving along the road this afternoon and the "exhaust gas monitoring light! started flashing and then stayed on! What would be wrong with it and can fix it myself!

Solutions would be appreciated!

Thanks

One of your coil has gone mate.

Dont drive it until you get a new one as the unburnt fuel will burn your catalyst's out!

EDIT: Just read your post again, has your exhaust started to sound different? Slight loss in power?

That normally happens when a coil goes?
tends to sound like a lawn mower and lack of power
simple to fix if that is it

i got mine from k tech about £30 odd quid
its just one bolt and a conector then it pulls out, you need to find out which one has gone tho
i un plug each one, one at a time while the engine is running if the engine revs slightly more when you unplug it that normally means the coil is good so plug it back in and go on to the next
there will be no change in the revs when you take out the nackered one.
worked for me anyway
if you go into the knowlege base there is a how to guide there
might be better explained

Cheers mate,

Where is the best place to get a coil from and how easy is it to fit?

It's an easy fix Ray an a very common problem [smilie=icon_aaargh.gif], quite a few of us carry a spare and the necessary socket to fix it for when the inevitable happens [smilie=icon_eek.gif], I had another one go on my car last week - try your local Peugeot Dealer for a replacement - part number 597094 they are £28 including vat.

theres a post on here, gsf do them for £25 delivered, i ordered 2 recently to keep one as a spare,

my personal mechanic (dad) was on holiday so i drove into the country and called the rac and got them to fit it.

(i work in a bank so my hands very rarely get dirty!!) lol [smilie=hide.gif]

Look out for him ... for he stalks the forum like a shadow in the night ... the spectre of the coils ... lurking ... waiting ... watching ...

Quick hide behind the sofa
