although very pleased with it now !!!

Looks factory fresh Chris.

So, I'm intrigued now. Are you going to not drive it and keep it stored away to keep it that way? What's the plan?

Thanks, if i am honest its never used that much as it only does dry weekend miles and since we dont get many of them !! I also now work away alot but I still have every intetion of using it although it may now not be this year, as it will be SORN as of the 1st of October.

The issue I now got is I have spent so much time cleaning and polishing it I dont want to get it dirty !! I know I should get out more and its a waste but !

Don't drive it mate. No point in spending all that time and money and then ruin all that hard work by driving it. I know the effort that has gone into your vee best left undriven. You can always get another vee (high mileage ie used ;) ) and drive that and I know you will look after it too so you get the best of worlds.

I'm with Matt on this!!!!!! Chris WHY????
If you want the cleanest vee, you've got it :approve:
BUT guess what it was made for :(
Loving the detailing but I can't get my head round it all [smilie=icon_eek.gif]

Do you know what I am starting to ask myself the same question, it started as one of those things were I will just clean that and then it got out of hand !! now I have a car I never really drive which although mint is stupid really. I need to either get over it and drive it or sell it which is probably the more likely of the two.

As it stands Chris, what you have done is one hell of an acheivment and fair play to you :approve: . There is no taking that away. However, the best cars I have ever seen are still driven and enjoyed. Its just another aspect of owning a box fresh competition show car. Put it this way, if your car was only 2/3rds the standard it is now and driven, it would be even more impressive to 99% of people.
For instance. Myself, Shaun and Blake went to E38 last week. There were cars there that were driven most weekends and were absolutly, 100% perfect. Obviously most were rebuilt this way (some actually werent). Once they get to that standard, it takes alot less work keeping them that way as opposed to getting them that way.
I would love to see your car on the open road and at meets Chris. Now you've got it how you want it, why dont you develop your skills to keep it that way??

Like i say though Chris, lovely car :approve:

Chris,

Congratulations on a worthwhile exercise.

My Vees are 8 and 10 years old respectively and whilst the paint/interior are immaculate... the hidden components are looking tired/oxidised. I think that any long-termer deserves this kind of makeover once in a while.

Don't be put off from using it...
...just 'pop the hood' on a few fellow members' Vees at the next meet to remind yourself why you went to such lengths.

Definitely a keeper!

That is beautiful chris! I can only imagine the effort you have gone to!

I'd be in the former camp and probably never drive it again lol but then as said, what's the point in that?

Maybe pop the hood under a marquee if it's raining at the meet though... :)
