Power Steering Pipe / Boot Struts

Had a couple of advisory notes following recent service - can anyone point me towards part numbers (and costs if you have 'em to hand) for the power steering pipe and also the gas struts for the boot?

Gas struts I believe will be very expensive Iain, I looked at this as I have the Mk2 spoiler so needed the V6 Mk2/Trophy struts as shorter, I ended up paying I think circa £40, but they were techically for a BMW 1 series - will try and dig out a link. From Renault I believe they are over £200....

In regards to steering pipe no idea!

Thanks all.

I'll look into alternatives for the gas boot struts as c. £200 from Renault is not happening! I wonder if the existing can be refurbished although from the link to the SGS items probably not worth it.

Get a local hydraulic hose specialist to remake the hose for a 10th of the price.

Wheeler Dealer style! Good idea, can't remember what car they did that on.

Pipe is much cheaper now ONLY £428.52 ;)

Bargain! [smilie=icon_eek.gif]

I think Brett has the right answer and I guess going forwards, as OEM parts become rarer, alternative solutions will be required to keep these cars running.

I was being seriouse! Lol You can get some very good quality hose and pipework in these places as they are usually of industrial grade materials. I have had to do it on my car in a few places to mate Renault with Audi. Would be a fit and forget solution in my opinion.
I had a really bad PAS leak a few years ago coming off my pump. I considered changing one of the pipes through out. It was pennies compared to Renault prices and would look very much at home.

Mine was done 8 years ago as a repair with no problems since

In Europe try pirtek they do a mobile service

The main cost might be labour or getting the pipe off - heard its a few hours work

I believe you! There was a WD episode where they done exactly this, may have been the Lamorghini episode actually and the pipe was a lot lot cheaper than that from the manufacture. Sounds like a no brainer

Wee update - To all who said "Pirtek" for the power steering pipe repair - have a gold star, go to the top of the class!

£82.25 plus VAT for the repair. Happy days :approve:
