Phase II wheels on to Phase I: Spacer Advice Request

CraigV6

New Member
Got my phase II wheels refurbed and brand new tyres put on.

About to order spacers, but not having a great degree of knowledge of the requirement thought I would use the knowledge on here to see if these on eBay are suitable:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Sparco-Wheel- ... #vi-ilComp

It states in the compatable vehicle list that the Clio V6 is compatable, but wanted to double check.

Apologies having a problem with my link insertion........

Hi mate, yes they are the ones your need I've bought some 20mm for mine as well but mine are made by fk automotive .they should fill the arches out just right going by all the info I got :approve:

I'm fitting 20mm because they fill the arches out more but it's up to you really .

Paul

Do you have a link to the ones you bought from FK Automotive?

On further discussion with the seller on eBay, these aren't the correct ones.

is that because the centers are the right sized (to small) ???

That's overall size 40mm = 20mm per side and you will need to buy longer bolts I got mine on eBay :approve:

Have you put spacers on the front? I have ph2 wheels on my ph1 and I have 20mm spacers on the back and none on the front as recommended and I had to raise my coil overs on the front to stop the rubbage I was having. A humongous raise on the front later and my front wheels still rub (not anywhere as bad but enough for me to consider going back to my 17's and dropping her again). What can be done to stop the rubbing, will a small spacer on the front stop it or will it make the track on the front too wide? It is rubbing just on the corner at the fronts on even fairly steep corners when pulling out of junctions etc. not just manoeuvres. Sorry for the thread hi-jack but can anybody help and it would be good to know how your ph2 wheel conversion is panning out johnler/craigv6

What size tyres are you using on your front wheels..? Your problem could lay here.

I have, after checking out past experiences on this site, gone for 205/40 on the front and 245/40 on the back.
Spacers to go on the back only.

Not actually had a chance to fit them yet, but don't expect any issues with these sizes.

Perhaps you have bought the wrong size???

I think there 'possibly' lays your problem. As Craig has mentioned, 205/40 is the OEM size for 18" front tyres. 225/40 being the Renault recommended replacement size since the 205/40/18 PS2 was discontinued by Michelin. I believe there is now a Michelin PS3 205/40/18 available, although the Super Sport is the replacement for the PS2.
