Phase 2 wheel spacers

I got a bit used to the wide magnesium wheels, even though they were a bit too wide and silly, can't help thinking a wee bit wider would look better.

Can the standard wheels be pushed out a bit further?

What would I need?
Will I crash and die?

Ive asked this before mate as id like the standard 18" wheels to come out a bit more.

If there is a definitive answer can there be links to all neccessary parts required posted below...

;)

Mossy's your boy for this...But there was a comment about the car tramlining badly...beware.

Several of the French guys use spacers.. 15mm seems to be popular. 10mm may have been more favourite on the front though. I've been toying with this idea for about 2.5 years now..

My 15mm rears were £70 (30mm wider track) don't forget wheel bolts too.

Certainly feels more planted now and no tram lining. Granted they are the wider wheels but really pad out in the arches James. Go for it!!!

What kind of pictures are you looking for Ali?

I used to have 16mm fornt already but only 5mm rear because of wing clearance. After widening the rims I needed the 16mm front anyway and had to go up to 16mm as well for the rear but I have still only a few mm clearance to the spring seats (which is actually not enough) without even using the camber settings I'd like to. I also need to say I took out a bit of the rear wings to make it fit and the car is lowered so I have no idea of the situation with standard suspension.

After all I like it! :)

Can you provide a link to the exact spacers and wheel bolts you bought Matt? 15mm rears, what about the fronts? :approve:

:approve: Larkspeed H&R 15mm for rear £72 LINK - check with Hulapo Jo though as my wheels are wider anyway so the OEM ones may only need 10mm each side. Best thing to do is take your wheels off and make some plastic/wooden test spacers pop bolts back through and you'll see how wide they need to be. Mossy and I did this with plastic piping cut to size from B%Q. you can get it right them before ordering and finding out they are too wide etc.

Fronts because of my new wheels I had to get them made so they will be different for the OEM wheels. Hulapo Jo may know what size is best for that.

Wheels bolts I got off Russo :approve: so not sure which ones they are on here. but they are all listed. LINK

As mentioned my wheels are wider as well. But as you see 16mm front and rear are no problem, even with lower suspension. With original suspension maybe even a bit more is possible and everything less isn't a problem anyway. So it's all about how much wider you want it! :)

Basically every spacer fits designed for 5x108 bolt pattern and 60.1mm centre bore. The bolts are M12x1.5mm if I'm not completely wrong and make sure you don't take radius seated ones. As for the length I can measure them tomorrow because I have some of them lying around as I went for studs possibly even in the right length for you. It was a bit tricky for me as we are required to have a minimum number of thread revolutions which leaves only a small tolerance between too short and too long (which will scratch somewhere inside the hub). I ended up buying too long bolts and shortening them by myself.

Here another a bit older picture with 16mm front and 5mm rear. as you see with original tyre dimensions there is still plenty of space left which I could use for lowering.

How are your wheels wider pal?

Wanted another tyre size but liked the OEM rims so I gave them to a company specialised in widening rims.
I know... It's probably not the best thing to do...
