Phase 2 OEM Geometry/Tracking Settings

Hi

Looked on the knowledge base but could not find the answer. Looking at getting the 4 wheel alignment done after getting new tyres for the rear. Are the settings the same as the phase 1? If not then what are the official settings for the phase 2?

Thanks in advance

Kevin

Hi, page 96 of manual 348, listed under mk2 data section, cannot post a link as i dont know how!
one for james here i think, thanks james in advance, spike.

I was like "it sooo is in the Knowledge Base", but then ironically the entry itself has a empty space for the actually details.

However, some of the threads linked to do have them in there. The real point of debate on the Mk2 is whether it should have a negative toe on the front as per the workshop manuals, or a positive one as per some figures others have found/used.

knowledge/kb_show.php?id=38 -> viewpost.php?p=22918&f=6

Personally I run with the workshop manual values, and that's certainly how the cars were supplied by Renault which is why the from-new settings scrub the insides of the front tyres out where they're toed out.

Was just about to ask this as well. I've just had mines aligned by the only place I can find but it's still pulling just a touch above 50

When you say its pulling this is not due to any toe in or out, this is due to caster camber issues or something being bent or worn,usually bottom ball joint is the culprit second to this is the top rubber.
the place i use is nottingham alignment services, (contact is jamie groves) they have full laser facility and know how to use this, personally i had them set mine to a positive toe in on the front with a slight toe out to the rear, i feel it is more stable at speed and should be like this anyway in my opinion.
just to add, if it has got badly adjusted toe the steering will just self centre anyway giving the steering wheel a crooked appearance. are all your tyres matched pairs, and i mean manufacturer, tread style and state of wear. if you have uneven wear or unmatched tyres this could also be your problem.

Just got four new tyres 100miles ago ps3s. It was majorly pulling to the left previously now only a touch but tbh the road I was driving on was horrific. Scottish roads around edinburgh are in disrepair god knows what I pay road tax for. When I got it mot'd the guy said there was a little bit of play in the maclaren joint? I think. Tbh I can live with it as it's not bad.
