.....no pictures yet, but in the V6 Register (HT05 NTA): LINK

Some history here: LINK & LINK - appears to have been serviced by the only registered owner when he bought it in Jan 2009.

Pure Speed, the company advertising the Vee, must have been speaking to an infamous former member since they appear to think there were 355 Phase 2's imported into the UK ;)

Looked a fairly nice example today apart from the rear engine covers in my opinion. I'm not suprised it didn't make much. It could have been an amazing example in a rare colour and it wouldn't have got much more. Nothing seemed to be going well in the room.

The car looked genuine enough, but was certainly short of being faultless and could've been presented better for sale. There are plenty of other Illiad Blue v6's out there in better condition, and its for that reason it didn't sell in the room.. In my opinion.
Lots we're struggling to reach their guide prices over-all, as Brett said.

I went to one of these auctions at Brooklands last year and they really struggled on the majority of lots and plenty were unsold. I put it down to a cooling market but I now wonder whether they just don't advertise enough or get the clients there.

The classic car market has been pretty flat for a couple of years now, with the occasional exceptional car, and just as it had an impact on 'modern' classics on the way up, so it probably will now.

When this happens the 'average' classics have tended to drop in price, but the low miles / very early / very late cars with perfect provenance tend to hold their value.

There were some very ordinary Vees on the market last year in the £20k - £30k range, which only a couple of years before would have been £10k - £15k. I would guess that they will be heading back down that way, if not all the way. I rather like the idea of a £10k Vee again!

Buying a car for investment is a pretty recent thing, and I would guess that the time is approaching when investors will start to bail out.

I bought my classic 15 years back as an investment. Its certainly not a recent thing. I also can't see things dropping. People will just hold onto things which I am finding now with parts, let alone cars.
