In case anyone is interested, here are a couple of pictures which show the main differences between the ph1 and ph2 exhaust:
Ph2 exhaust is post clean up, they didn't look dissimiliar before apart from the rust spots...
Same Renault Part No. but different Bosal Part No.
Ph1:
Ph2:
Slightly different shape at each end, Ph1:
Ph2:
Once I've found a magnet I'll tell you whether either is SS. Although there is some rust on the Ph1 exhaust it's really not in bad condition for a 10 year old backbox which leads me to believe it may be a poor quality SS rather than mild...
Fitted they both sound identical to my ears at idle. I haven't driven it yet though as haven't fitted the rear bumper back on properly yet...the access to those nuts & bolts behind the rear wheels is right pain [smilie=icon_aaargh.gif]
Well worthwhile changing as it has smartened the rear end up very nicely... [cmilie=iconcheers.gif]
