Ph1/Ph2 brakes

I looked up discs pads calipers and all the same part numbers. The mountings bit is one for the technical guys to answer.

thanks James. Just might need a caliper so i'll see if I can track one down from somewhere. I saw the mention of citroen XM calipers, that is interesting.

I've read 37mm is overall height of the Vee disks. those Senics ones show to be 44mm height. Something for the technical guys to answer I think.

What does the height of the disk actually mean? is it the radius minus the segment which doesnt have any disk, if that makes sense?

I think its the total height of it ie if its laying face down on a table how tall it is including the hub

yeah its the "hat height" thank you James. Does anyone know if there is anyway around this? im guessing if the height was less you could rectify it with spacers of some sort but if its larger is that just a no go?

Does anyone know if the rear rotors have shims behind them? If so what size. Looking at the size of the spider/alpine a610 rotors. LINK
Size - 300mm
innerdiam - 61mm
height - 44mm as a-posed to 37mm
max thickness - 24
Min thickness - 22

they are identical except a 7mm difference in height. Surely this could be recified by using shims/spacers to move the rotor out 7mm therefore it will be located in the same position as before. More than likely longer wheel bolts will also have to be used. Has anyone tried this before? I've had a search and just seen a mention of BenR saying he could make a kit and someone else saying the disks were very similar.

Just looking for some novel ways to get disks before i jump in and pay £430 on disks. If i'm completely barking up the wrong tree please be kind

James you've read Ben's topic talking of shims and spacers etc. Lucy might be able to tell you if Ben's discs got made and worked, her Vee was probably the guinea pig.

Thank you James, ever helpful as usual. I've sent her a PM hopefully it will shed some more light on the situation. If anyone else has any input, I know there are several people with petrol running through their veins and an in-depth knowledge of all things technical to do with cars on this forum so educating me a little would be fantastic.

James

forget it, just wait for apec to make some.
think of this senario: you are lying in the ditch with the car upside down on top of you, all the insurance guy can see is the remains of a clio with shiny new discs and mackeled up spacers! Q? is he going to pay out? mmm, modification been declared??? you now need a big padle as you are up shit creek. hopefully, no one died in the proccess.
did i say i was a pessimist?
