PH SUNDAY SERVICE: 16/12/12 - Goodwood Motor Circuit

Last PH Sunday Service of 2012 at Goodwood Motor Circuit. Personally, I've never done the whole Goodwood thing so this will be a great little taster! As usual the focus will be on PHers and their cars, with the usual eclectic mix. First 800 are in so lots of opportunities to avoid the Reserve list. List is around about 100 at the mo. First come first served on the day so we get there early we get to park up in the paddock... 8)

The PistonHeads Sunday Service was sadly missed in November due to all efforts being focussed on BTaP 2012 (if you missed that then shame on you) but we're back in a big way with our end of year Sunday Service.

Shun Christmas shopping, rubbish TV and putting up decorations and instead point your steed towards Goodwood Motor Circuit on Sunday December 16 for our 2012 Grand Finale. We've decided to promote a little earlier than usual as we appreciate you may need to get this in the diaries sooner rather than later with all the fesitivities taking place in mid-December.

Our Goodwood meet was very well attended well-attend last year and we're sure 2012 will be no different as we see out 2012 and wonder what the Sunday Service has in store for 2013. 800 PHer cars can be accommodated on the day but, as with all Sunday Service meets, spaces fill up fast so ensure you get your name down on the calendar to reserve your place.

Parking will be in the paddock and along the circuit straight, with spaces allocated on a first-come first-served basis and we'll be working to our usual format of 'no name, no space' on the gate. Gates open at 09.00 and close at 13.00 as per usual.

Its not where the Festival of speed is held. Its actually at the racing track. Both worth the visit.

Same! Couldn't make the last one as the car was as MRCs. Annoying as MB World is meant to be a good crack.

Last of the year is always a good one as people are usually starting to wind down for Christmas. It's also usefully further South making it a shorter journey for some. Looking forward to it. :)

Depending on interest I'll post up pre-meet/convoy details closer the time.

Myself and Duncan took our v6's along last year, it was a good morning despite the freezing cold conditions. I am on the list for this year, but my attendance is subject to whether I have to work or not.

I am in the top 20!!! Great drive down there. Lets get a convoy on and get parked together. :)

If there's enough interest I'll definitely cobble together some sort of pre-meet redevous point for a quick coffee and catch-up before a convoy for an en-masse entrance. And I promise not to break ranks to chase TVRs this time :p

No. 767!! Phew!!

Nice. Just scraped in without resorting to the leper list matey. Lol

Seems like there is a healthy interest already from people :approve:. Will look into a nearish meet-up point in the next couple of weeks unless there are any locals with good suggestions at this early stage? What did people do last year?

Anyone that has missed the intial 800 do still pop your name down on the reserve list as there is every chance you'll get in. Hundreds have dropped off in the run-up to previous events (me included last time!) and I'd expect this to ring even more true for a meet in the run-up to Christmas.

These really are fantastic little events for meeting like minded individuals in all sorts of weird and wonderful machinery from drift-spec cars all the way through to OEM beauties via supercars, shopping cars, sleepers, track day cars, rare cars, vintage cars and cars that I've never even heard of!

Oh and, as others have alluded to, you don't even need a vee to join in so to those winter SORNers, prospective owners, past owners, current owners with cars in bits (cough, cough) come along and make it a good one! :)

Not long to go now guys. A couple of people have dropped out but hopefully we still have enough to make this a goer?

Anybody got any ideas where a good potential meeting place will be?

If your looking for somewhere locally, then where myself and Duncan met up before last year would suit you well, please see my thread from last year for details:

If however your looking for a bit more of a drive before hand then I'm afraid I don't know where to suggest.

Thanks Will. Think the general consensus was it was too early (and probably too cold!) to go for a proper hoon so I was more thinking about a good place to meet up so we can convoy-in together. Thanks for the link :approve:

So guys what is the general consensus about meeting up? I was thinking anytime from 8:15ish with the aim to leave around 8:45am? There's a gravel car park near Goodwood Horse Racecourse on the Kennel Hill Road. It's quite large and only a short drive from the Motor Circuit. Not sure if below link will work - if not click on the link in Will's reply to see the picture.
