petrol smell

Anybody had this.....suggestions?

When driving with window down I get a strong smell of petrol...but not all the time...sometimes when booting, sometimes when cornering, sometimes when 'normal' driving.

When the window is up.....nothing

When I stop the car and get out...no smell, no visible leaks that i can see either, petrol cap looks dry....any ideas please
