Passneger window motor failure

2nd time now in 11yrs [smilie=doubt.gif], rolled passenger window down, made horrid noise, then stopped!, tried to close it, nada! [smilie=icon_cry.gif]

managed to persuade it up by hand........

Renault did original repair in warranty way way back....

as that's now not applicable (the warranty) I think i've read on here that the MK1 window motors are standard Clio window motors, can anyone confirm & if so any spares knocking round someones garage ?

p.s it's a left hand drive, so right side window motor.......will a UK drivers side window motor fit ?

i think its a case of get the spanners out and have a look, plenty of std clios in the boneyards over here, if you cannot get one im sure one of us can send one.

I've replace the window regulator on my Laguna before. Straight forward job. The cables had snapped. Got a replacement regulator for £60 from europarts.

Best take the doorcard off and take a peek and what's happened.

any pics/info on here for guidance in removing door card.....remember doing it years ago on another car & breaking some plastic clips [smilie=icon_eek.gif] would like to avoid the same thing happening on my Vee

thanks James,

a trim fork, that's exactly what i was missing last time......remember my brother showing me one after i'd trashed a few clips!...

will pop out & get one [smilie=thanks.gif]

update:

doesn't look like the motor, in fact when i got the trim off i found a couple of plastic type clips inside the exposed door & loose hanging metal wire that looks like it should be fixed to a guide rail.....

i can find no diagrams of the gubbins behind the door frame, just of the door with the panel taken off........

so, before i go removing the other door card to look behind it for reference, does anyone have any diagrams or pictures of what the setup should be ?
