Passenger airbag.

Hi all. My wife and i are expecting our first baby in a weeks time and whilst taking the vee for a drive today just happened to feel around the passenger seat on the off chance that it has iso fix points for the car seat. To my amazement it does!! [smilie=yay.gif] so my question is to any one who can help -- how can i turn the passenger airbag off when i need to to take baby for a b road blast to get her to sleep lol. thanks in advance for any input. jimm.

I'm away at the moment so can't check my car, but I'm fairly sure there is a key slot in the passenger door, near the door release on the inside? Stick your main ignition key in that and turn it something like a quarter turn, then a light will come on the dash informing you it is disabled.

I have had Isofix bases in my ph2 car but I binned the original seats for Recaro Pole Positions earlier this year and now use a Maxi Cosi seat that straps in using the seat belt.

There is no airbag override on the Mk1..

Perhaps a dealer can turn it off using their computer, or you might be able to put a resistor in place to fool the system. Await someone with technical knowledge to help you with this one.

Think about insurance problems.

We have an 18 month old girl and she absolutely loves the Vee as she sits really high up and can see everything!

At last a positive regarding the high seat position!! :approve:

just checked and there is no key slot on the mk1 vee bummer !!! so i am wondering how hard it would be to have a slot linked in to the fuse for the air bag ???? may be renault could help with the idea for programming if it has one on the mk2?? thanks for discussing .

Will check the possibilities in configuration when I get the chance hopefully tomorrow. For sure you can turn off the airbag by configuration, the problem will be to find one who is willing to do it.
