Original clio v6 255 Autocar review - 2003

Like many of us, I poured over any review i could find of the clio V6 when in the hunt for one.

That review covers everything nicely i reckon and makes the clearest statement about what the vee actually is -
It is a figment of imagination brought to life; a marker pen doodle made real by an admirable corporate will.
:approve:

It's not cheap, its not particularly economical... it really is just a toy. Yes it's quick enough to get you into trouble but if you want a fast car the Vee really isnt what you're after. What it lacks in oomph it replaces with bucketloads of character.

You cant help but smile every time you take it out on a sunny day and the roads are quiet :race:

Fully agree. Chasing my friends in 197/200 Clios and 250/265 Meganes is an impossible task, but when we get wherever I've got a mahoosive smile on my face, and definitely will get more looks when I pull up

Good to see this article, and the Vee featured in it ;)

"We drove the European launch car in April and since then the diminutive mid-engined monster has featured at both our 0-100-0 and Handling Day contests. But this is our first drive in a right-hand-drive version on UK roads and, thankfully, moving the steering wheel from left to right hasn’t produced any nasty side effects."

Couldn't agree more with everybody's thoughts and opinions.
