One for the mileage thread

There is a MK2 for sale here in the Netherlands with 125.000 miles.

There's also an MK1 in the dutch V6 register which did 154.000 miles before it burned down. Not a single malfunctioning till then. Only 3 or 4 coils offcourse. :approve:

Blimey, John is a name from the early days!!! [smilie=icon_eek.gif] :approve:

What happened to the one that burned down adrian??

The only time I ever took my Vee to Renault for a service and an inspection under warranty resulted in ...

1. Them denying there was a thermostat fault which I knew there was, and wanted to charge me just to check it - even though the car was under warranty. I replaced the themostat myself for less than the cost of them doing a diagnostic check alone.
2. They left a wadge of that blue paper towel stuff on the rear exhaust manifold - I insisted on removing engine covers on the premises to check the work and that is what I found - so a serious fire hazard and one I wouldn't have known about had I not checked ... Maybe this is what happened with the above Vee [smilie=icon_eek.gif]

Martin

Yeah that's possible Martin! Off course everything was denied in the case of the woman above which bought the Vee from new. I'm not wild about the Renault workshop over here also. Good guys but a bit to much mechanics that are under 20. Doesn't say anything but I don't like there attitude.

A couple of years ago I was there with the vee and the first thing I hear was: pfff you should do a cambelt on that thing.... [smilie=icon_cry.gif]

so i'm not taking it there :)

I agree mossy! Something very appealing about it, in the trusty old workhorse sense...
Worth a punt at £6k! :)

Mine was last serviced at Renault, i noticed the oil level was too high so drained some..... Over 3/4 litre and now it's JUST on the full mark....... Scary [smilie=icon_eek.gif]

Renault service is shocking! Iv herd some horror story's too. Such a shame tbh :(

Good to see a Vee with such High mileage! So I wonder, is there any known vee to of broken the 200k mile barrier? Iirc I read that people think it's strong for 300k + !!!!! :race:

That mileage wouldnt put me off at the price, the stereo makes me more nervous!! lol

This is the highest ive seen: LINK phase 2 on approx 120k, Harrys old one.

Just noticed thats the same one Adrians talking about above!

Found a phase 1 on piston heads with wait for it 111,000 miles on the clock and for the measly sum of £6,000 and who says us v6 owners worry about the miles we put on our cars :salut:
