Oil level!

Hi. Just a question, on start up I've noticed my oil level has reduced to half. I've had the car for nearly 3 months and done just under 1000 miles. Does this sound about right to everyone or have I got a another similar problem that I had with my R27 197?

I had this problem with a 106 I bought. The guy who sold it was confused why it kept losing so much oil and that he had to keep topping it up all the time. I serviced the car a day later and found the oil filter half hanging off. No wonder it was losing so much. By the way, the car was a £200 sh**ter so wasn't too worried about the oil loss. :)
