Not sellin'!

There are virtually 'no' Vees listed on PH at the moment.

I've got a theory that rare iconic cars should never dip below 50% of their original list price.

My conspiracy theory is that there would be loads more Vees listed if the prices weren't appalling.

I've also noted that there are very few savvy dealers working the 'rare Renaultsport' market. Which essentially leaves us numpties to organise private treaties... Oh dear!

So my question is (assuming selling would need you to replace with a non-Vee): Even if your Vee was not for sale: what would be the minimum figure would you feel compelled to sell at ?

I think its great that theer are so few available, means that the seller can take control.

good question... If someone was stood in front of me with 15k id take it, any less just isnt worth it as it would take years and alot of cash to find another UK phase 1 like it.

Maybe it is also because the people that currently own them like them and can actually afford to run them in the current climate ...

I think most marginal owners would have been shaken out of the tree by now in terms of any financial need to sell. The rest maybe remains churn and not many people sell Vees because they don't like them, I would imagine typically for financial, practicality and wanting a change.

It would be great for everyone if prices remain stable and they seem to have over the last few years within 3k or so for your good Mk2 ?

£20,000 cash would take it probably

Wouldn't even entertain any offer of less, as that's what it's worth to me

Hmmm, I think if someone had £16k then I'd be tempted, but as others have said its worth more to me than the price I bought it, hence why I snapped it up at the bargainous price

As it stands £4k. Not sure what I'd like to see it go for when finished. Modified ones are hard to put a value on. It would cost someone shit loads to employ a company to carry out what being done. I'd be happy to see it go down the road at £16-18k after the body overhaul. Not saying its worth that to anyone other than me mind.

£21k, same I paid for it back in 04 as it is a one owner 8700 miles etc...... but in reality even if somebody sat in front of me with crisp £50 notes I wouldn't sell. The car is too special to me (being the last thing i ever drove using my legs).

But as most of the vees are owned by us on here we should lift the values. If a car books at £15k but they are just not available at that then demand goes up and with demand prices must go up too. Lets make £15k become £20k and so on

I may look for a Honda NSX next year. Id pay over book for the right car... infact f..k book values, we are not talking about a 2 year old Ford Mondeo where there are huge amounts of them available.

This feedback is great news for wannabe owners...

For example, if you wanted a perfect lunar - it should be simply a case of 'courting' the right owners on here, and paying a realistic (but not excessive) price.

Tricky one, I'm in a bit of an unusual position because I quite fancy a second one, so I'm not particularly bothered which way the market goes [smilie=icon_eek.gif]

I feel like I'm unhealthily attached to LP51 now, and in my dreams I have it parked next to an ID ph2 (preferably Shaun's ;) )..... So errrrr, It'd have to be crazy money. I trust my car and lucked upon a good, hassle free V, so shopping it in for another one is a bit of a risk (and I fear I'll end up with a sack of proverbial).

I do not wish to sell my v6. However if I were to need to sell for financial reasons I wouldn't want to take less than £11000.

I have been looking for a few months, I think <flamesuiton>

Year of the car does not really come into it, a nice car with a nice history -

20k - 30k miles - £17k - £15.5k

30k - 40k miles - £15k - £13k

40k - 55k miles - £13k - £11k

I could be wrong...

The above does not include rare coloured cars, or I.d vehicles.

I hope to end up paying around £13k for a nice 35k+ miles car. (Mars red world be top of my list, but only seen one for sale in the last 6 months, so I will not doubt end up with a Black or Blue one)

As for what 'books or guides' say, they mean nothing on a car that had so few built.

Talking of colour's..............I definitely didn't want, under any situation Titanium Silver.

I looked and traveled the length of the country looking for the very best I could get my hands on - a few disappointments along the way, but that's cars for you.

What did I end up buying, "Titanium Silver"............by far the best V6 I looked at and ended up buy at a fantastic price (which I'll keep to myself & the seller).

8800miles, 2 owners, 6 Renault Service Stamps, Cam Belt/Water Pump change at K-Tec (with receipts), full set of new Michelins etc etc.

Sometimes you have to buy with your head, so don't narrow you vision too much.

Best of Luck ;)
