No throttle response

Hi there, hope everyone is well.

I still have an electronics issue with my Phase 1 Vee.

At random times during driving or with it sat idling the centre "electronic fault" warning light comes on & the car has no throttle response at all. It starts & idles perfectly. When the light comes on if i switch the ignition off & re start the car the light goes out & it's back to normal until it happens again. This can happen after a short period of time (say 3 mins) or i can drive it for 1 hour before it does it again.

I have changed the throttle potentiometer connected to the throttle cable under the bonnet with no change in the fault. I then changed the entire throttle body still with no change in the fault.

The parts i used were second hand so there is the small chance that either the pot, throttle body or both are also faulty but they did come off low mileage running cars so i feel it's more likely to be another fault.

Has anyone else come across this fault ?

Kindest regards

Jules.

I have had same fault after doing belts on one , i unplugged the big multi plug in engine bay spun it 360 degrees and refitted it . This was the only plug i had removed to take engine out and was ok after that .

OK, that's great info. I'll give that a go and see if it helps, i've never had the plug off but maybe there's an oxidized terminal in there somewhere. I'll post an update if it cures it.

Keep the suggestions coming in everyone in case there are any more experiences of this problem.

Many thanks

Jules. :race:
