Dear All

I will be putting up No.037 for sale in December. I have fitted her with brand new Recaro Sportster CS seats. She has covered 38000 miles and is finished in Illiad Blue.

I have owned this car for two years, and have spent lots of time and money bringing the car up to a high standard.

Here is an overview of new parts fitted in the last two years / 11000miles of ownership:

ENGINE/TRANSMISSION
New Clutch
New Dual Mass Flywheel
New Ignition Coils
New Spark Plugs
Cam Belt, Water Pump and Thermostat @ 27000
New Gear selector mechanism
New Pipercross Evo air filter (original air box and bracket supplied with car)
New gearbox oil - correct type!
New oil cooler seals

ELECTRICAL PARTS
New Bosch Battery
Overhauled Alternator
New starter motor (Delco Remy)

INTERIOR PARTS
New Steering Wheel
New Door Pulls
New Gear knob
New Sportster CS Recaros, black alcantara/leather combination

SUSPENSION
All Shock absorbers overhauled by an authorised Koni technician
New front and rear track rod ends
New front and rear wishbone bushes
New front and rear top mounts
New rear lower wishbone ball joints

EXTERNAL TRIM
New Alloys (Standard wheels) and centre caps
New Aerial and rubber gasket
New number plates
New under bonnet luggage tray
New Valeo flat wiper blades.

BRAKES
Overhauled and black powder coated front calipers, with all new pistons, seals and fluid pipes.
Overhauled rear calipers, new pistons and seals
Front discs and pads
Rear discs and pads
New brake hoses, and brake fluid change.

I want to make people aware that I am selling this car if you are considering purchasing, or know someone looking for a nice example. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed this car, and it really did tick all my boxes, especially after I’ve owned nearly all the hot clios, from Williams to Trophy, and R27 models. The V6 will be replaced by an Audi RS3, which is my reason for selling. If I had the storage space and money to keep her, I definitely would!

When I return home from work abroad in December, I will advertise the car on the main stream websites and get some pictures up!

Cheers
Phil

Blimey, that car has had about everything you could possibly wish for replaced! It must actually drive like brand new!

Can't blame you for selling, if an RS3 was in budget, I'd probably do the same.. They (and the TT-RS) are absolutely ballistic and they are getting nearer and nearer my budget lol

Best of luck with the sale, got to be worth a good £16995 with all those new bits!

Audi RS3 really???? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2xwecTp91-o

What's your point Nas?

The Vee hardly has the best reviews does it!! The RS3 is staggeringly good!

Thanks for the feedback guys.

I'm highly doubtful it would sell for £16995 (of course that would be very nice) - however i'll be realistically pricing it <14k. I always accepted that you never get your money back, and I originally intended to keep the Vee for a long time, as many owners do! I never worried about costs because I expected to get all the enjoyment out of that expenditure.
She does drive very well thanks to everything being renewed.

I've just got to clean up the front caliper wear plates again to sort out some annoying brake squeal that rears its head sometimes - I think these are the source, as had this problem before. Apart from a good final detailing on the alloys, she's good to go.

The RS3 is regularly pitched against the 1M, which I've been very tempted with. I've yet to drive the RS3, and it will no doubt lack some orginal sparkle after sometime in ownership, unlike the Vee. Thing is, it's fast, comfortable practicality with a boot that I'm looking for, with nice engine sound and rarity. Regards to the video link - I think the new 1-series are pig ugly, and the RS3 sounds much better.

On a side note, it's interesting how little Mk2 Vees are available at the moment....

Fantastic car and whoever buys will have picked up a true gem! It is clear that you have enjoyed the car and it is shown by the amount of work you have put in.

RS3 is a fantastic car. If i were you i would also look at a TT-RS. Both are very good and churn out roughly the same power. TT-RS would be my choice as i like the driving position, however RS3 is probably more practical!

You're right Nick, TT-RS is kinda the better choice for performance, but I want the sportback look / 5 doors! And of course, easily tunable to a 400bhp+ monster....

I would prefer a better drivers car or a car that is a lot more fun rather than a slightly quicker car. Point to point speed dont fascinate me as much as the ride taken to get there. The understeer issue isnt endearing to me. It would do my head in. I prefer a tail-happy car although the vee is just plain silly in that respect!! 1M is the one I would go for never go for the 135i. The 1-series I too think looks shit but conversely the 1M looks so good.

I love the vee cos of its look, aggressive stance, rarity, the noise, the engine in the cabin with you and from a drivers point of view I like the fact there is no nannying going on from the electric gizmos, if you screw up you screw it up! The inputs you put in result in the outputs whereas 4wd and modern cars in general too many driver aids and electronic cut-ins. RWD cars are a lot more fun when you wanna be naughty! I think the fact with the danger element with the vee makes the driving and journey more exciting when pushing it to the limit.

RS3 is one great and outstandingly fast car and when you are taking about great cars its the little differences that make the ultimate difference.

I whole heartedly agree with your comments there Nas :approve: the Vee is SO special because of the way it drives, this is what makes the Vee such a special bit of kit [cmilie=iconcheers.gif]

I'd take the better drivers car over a quicker car every time, which is why I love the Vee SO much :race:

I assume the staggering part comes from the fact that the RS3 is made by the same people that brought us the R8 and the B7 RS4 and yet somehow they forgot all they'd learnt to default to the dreary understeery mess that is the RS3. Great engine and (as always) fantastic aesthetics but as a focused and involving driving tool it's a total failure.

Yep. This one LINKY. Auto only as well. :s

Always nice having a British rally champion and a BTCC legend agree with me on 5th Gear recently as well... :)

Sorry to hear you are selling Phil, I know you mentioned a few months back you were considering it. You really have put a lot of work into your car, someone will get a great car there.

Hi Phil,

The V6 Clio sounds great..................

Hi Shaun

Yes, I am going to advertise the car for £14000.

I'm not home until mid-December, so I wont be putting the advert up until just after then.
