Hello all

Well here i am to something new ive been an owner of various Evos over the last 12 or so years ive had an Evo3, Evo6 an my good old trusty 4 which was running about 440bhp and same touque, which was used mainly for the track, well to cut a long story short i wanted a change an was going to get a BMW M3, then i saw these clios and wanted one, which i have..... [smilie=yay.gif]

A lot of you probally wont like this car as its not original, its been hand built from scratch using all the original moulds an jigs from TWR its got all phase 2 panels etc.. The engine is the V6 but now runs carbs and a dizzy its also got twin turbos, At the moment im just ripping it apart to get it ready for next year, i will also need loads of advice, lol,,, my first is i need more wheels.. what fits?

Ive loads of parts which came with this i have all the moulds for the body panels, ive a spare engine and heads, ive the prototype engine and gearbox from TWR, i was told the box is 5 speed all conected to the subframe, ive wiring harnesses, loads of stuff... So as said before i really dont knowanything about these cars and need to lean quickly and im sure this is the right place......

Welcome aboard fella! We all see this for sale last month and was wondering what it is and its history. Now you can fill us in on the details! Lol. Looked to be running on HIF44 Turbo carbs to me. What's the engine from? None of the L7X motors run with a dizzy.

Anyway, let's see some piccies.

So you have a V6 donor car or you're using a regular Clio etc? I can't quite tell from the description.

As above pics and a blog/thread of the build process would be great :approve:

Welcome Michael.
Saw the car up for sale, was a steal for the advertised price!! It's an intersting car and would love to hear about it. What's your plans for it?

The guy who built your car sounded like a knowledgeable chap! Would love to hear what's its like to drive?

Wheel options are limited, yours has some pre production split rims, aside from the standard wheels, there's not many options! Compmotive made some but haven't seem them for sale in a while.

Thanks forthe welcome.. yea i will get some pics up over the weekend, ive only really drove ita few miles, so far all seems good but didnt really wanna put my foot down till ive had it on the rollers and checked all the fueling etc, My plans for it really are to use it as a track car and do sprints.
The guy i got it off who built the car is a very knowlegable man, the turbos are cooled by water/meth injectin or something like that, at the moment we are just stripping the inside as its just normal clio an not very nice but thats an easy fix, then we're starting on engine just making sure no oil leaks prob do cambelt. an oils etc, tidy body work up and try to quiten the exhaust system, then off to get geo done (will be asking for best settings) As for the wheels i really want 17s to fit the tyres ive got at moment then maybe go to 18s if easier to get hold of, so dont any other wheels fit? is it the off-set or PCD?

All advice welcome, oh yea one other thing its so loud inside im thinking of making a partition behind seats & engine.. Any ideas?

Once again thanks

:welcome:

Best place to post techinical questions is the: <Improvements, tuning and technical discussion> section

To answer your question though: A handful of perspex bulkheads were commissioned by a former member to help with noise issues. These occasionally become available to purchase. Try using the <search> function to research the item and (if satisfactory) try popping a notice on the <Wanted> section...

Incidentally, your acquisition and future development deserves to be chronicled in the SPECIAL PROJECTS section. :approve:

:welcome: to the club micevo.

Agree with all the comments and indeed you have bought a very interesting vee :salut:
Would love to see some photos of your new car and some figures ;)

The perspex bulkheads do come up for sale now and again and I've never heard a bad word about them :approve:
Just so happens I picked one up a few months ago but still haven't got around to fitting it. Where you based and maybe you could take a template off someone who has one ;)
Or have you thought about a trophy bulkhead if your stripping the car for track day fun?? Reason is samfish was selling off some spare trophy parts LINK

Hi Michael

Welcome to the club mate. Interesting car you have there. Look forward to hearing more about it.

Matt. :welcome:

Welcome to v6Clio.net Michael!.. Looking forward to learning all about this out of the ordinary car of yours. :approve:

Hello there! I too have recently purchased a V6! What an awesome car! I've been looking at it for several months and after getting my finances in order I took the plunge. Thanks to this site for all the advice, it's been very handy. Hopefully I've got a nice example- Phase 1, completely unmodified (except for a DAB radio) and with just shy of 40,000 miles on the clock. I'll get some photos up soon, but you'll have to forgive me if I spend more time driving than posting ;)

Hi pal,

Welcome. Be some cracking meets in 2013 for you to attend too :approve:

Where abouts are you from?

Cheers,

Matt.

I live in daventry , I've not really done anything with it this weekend, at the moment we are thinking wheels.... Lol!!! I know I shouldn't ask on this thread but what the stud pattern and off-set on. These cars??? Cus we are tryin to work out how to get 114.3 wit offset of 38 to fit, we might try and make some adapters, but thatight be a daft idea...

I'll save you the trouble (and the loot) - there aren't any straight forward after-market options and nothing looks quite as good as the OZ's anyhow. ;)

Some information on offsets here
Wheel specifications here

Have you any idea what ET your wheels are Michael, are they the development 3 piece split rims?
