Newbie looking for v6

New Member
Hi guys, just joined the forum. I'm based in Staffordshire and i'm looking to get into a phase 2 at some point this year. Just thought I would introduce myself and lurk around here for a while picking up advice and tips until the opportunity comes up to purchase. :)

Welcome Trev..............

Couple of real nice PH2's on Pistonheads at the moment.

Depends what your budget is, but the word seems to be they're holding their money or "maybe" on the increase ????

That's only my take on it, and I'm definitely no expert, but this is the place to get a feel for what's what.

Best of Luck, and again :welcome:

Yes, i've seen the ones on PH, I have found one that is up at £10,750 2004 49k on the clock in Black, it's higher miles than I want but the price it's within my budget!

Though I do sort of understand the mileage thing, for me condition and servicing are more important. This can help find the bargains I think

The thought behind the mileage is down to the fact I want to use it and not let it sit in the garage. If I can pick up one with 20/30k on the clock at the right price, when I come to re-sell the mileage will still look to be reasonable to other people. I'm not sure if this is really correct, but looking at the miles covered on the ones for sale today 50k would look to be on the high side?

A 20-30k car for 10-11k will prove to be a very difficult search. I would buy another one immediately for that kind of price.

All the best with the hunt though, As Hoogi mentioned i'd buy sooner rather than later I think.

Yep I like setting myself impossible tasks! lol,

I know it's a personal opinion thing but at this moment in time I have no real colour pref, is there any colour that I should cross off my list before I get hooked on one particular thing?
Any advice or opinion is appreciated :)

It's just the rarity of some colours which stop you there, but then the most numerous colour is the best anyway ;) When I was picking mine up form the garage the other day everyone was saying it was better than the owners and his is a rare Acid Yellow one.Obviously had good taste

But again, all colours look good so you won't buy the bogey colour

Welcome, and good luck with your search.

I believe overall condition and how the car has beem maintained over the years has to be a priority, especially if you are looking to use it fairly regularly.

Don't get me wrong, I would not buy a car without a full documented service history and a folder full of receipts as this is important if I'm driving it daily as is the mileage, hence why I'm wondering if 50k is already to much

:welcome: to the forum Trev

The supply is so limited I would rule out colour preference. You could be waiting a long time for 'your' colour.

All colours look amazing.

Just noticed that the car advertised needs a cambelt change. Could someone please tell me a ball park figure for this? Cheers

Just a quick question, does anyone know who's number 267 was? Just realised its one I'm looking into and has a v6.net forum sticker in the back?
