New V6 owner

Hi all,

I'm now the proud owner of a Mk. 2 V6, UK plaque no. 076, Illiad Blue. It's been in Australia since 2010.

Pics coming soon!

Looks like a great forum.

Welcome

A business opportunity keeps arising in Australia and I'm rather tempted to jump ship and take the V6. Are these still going for a large sum of money in Aus?

Thanks for the welcome guys.

My car was imported in April 2010. I think the last UK owner was Adam Spence (?), who brought the car over and immediately sold it to the person I have now acquired it from. It's done 42,000 km.

There are only 6 of these in Oz as far as I am aware, as the only practical way to get one in is as a private import, where someone who has owned the car for at least 12 months migrates to Australia and brings the car with them (or a returning expat). So if you're looking to come to Australia to live (a holiday won't cut it) you will certainly turn a nice profit if you bring your V6 with and sell (but why would you want to?).

If anyone can help me with the UK history of the car I'd appreciate it!

I've heard rumours that a black V6 is on its way, or may even be here, but it's on the east coast so I know nothing more as yet.

The car had done just under 18,000 miles when it came here in 2010 (it had been in storage in the UK for the previous 2 years, so was only on the road there for 5 years). It had the miles speedo changed to a second hand km one for licensing here and has done just under 14,000 km since. By my reckoning that's a total of about 42,500 km!

I'm a real orphan as I can't even get together with the other V6 owners here as they're all on the other side of the country!

Welcome

Rare old beast you have there!!!

Do you know what the registration plate was when it was back in the UK? Be handy to know for the record.

All I know is that it was first registered on 28 October 2003, with Registration Mark "ND53 OYO". A Mrs Emma Spence from Hungerford purchased the car in July 2008 and brought it to Australia when she moved here in early 2010. So hoping someone can fill in the gaps in the history from 2003-8!

The black Clio was apparently spotted on the docks in June but I've heard nothing since so it seems to have gone to ground.

Don't have any history other than it being a UK car

Don't know how well this will work ... These were taken a few days ago at our French Car Day. The blue 182 Cup is also mine.
