Hi everyone ive just joined the forum and looking at buying a phase 2 v6 soon so thought this was a good place to start looking for one and find out issues to look out for. Also i was wondering if anyone knows if its possible to have a childs seat in the passenger seat and deactivate the passenger airbag, as i need to take my daughter out occassionally. Thanks

Hello and welcome to the forum, you have certainly come to the right place for information about these cars. I can't help with the airbag question, but i'm sure somebody will be along to answer.

It is worth becoming a full member as that gives you access to a whole load of information in the 'knowledge index'. A lot of UK Vees are known to the forum, so there is a good chance there will be something about any particular car in 'v6 Register'

Hi Steve,

there is a key slot in the passenger door, near the door release on the inside Stick your main ignition key in that and turn it something like a quarter turn, then a light will come on the dash informing you it is disabled.

Welcome to v6Clio.net Steve! :approve:

What is it about the Clio v6 that appeals to you? What other cars have you owned?

Welcome Steve.

You certainly are in the right place if your quest is to learn about the Clio V6, especially before acquiring one. As such, it would certainly be advisable to sign up in order to gain access to all areas of this forum...........it certainly will be money well spent if you are serious about buying one.

Thanks for the reply's, good to know the airbag thing isnt an issue. Ive always liked them and i guess we all have a list of cars we'd like to own and the v6 is on there for me, think they look stunning and are just generally a cool and iconic car that ive always liked, never been out in one though. Ive had lots and lots of cars, impreza wr1, sierra cosworth, m3, z3m, skyline, focus rs, focus st 225, megane r26, bmw 130i, rs turbos, various gti's and hot hatches. Had about 25 cars all together! Most were tuned also :-)

Whereabouts in the UK are you? I'm sure a member local to yourself would be able to take you out before you start your search.

Hi Steve, :welcome: to the forum.
Loads of helpful information for you to search through but if you have any questions then I'm sure someone will be more than happy to answer :approve:
Some good reading here, Buying guide

As for the fitting child seats it's straight forward ( ph2 not 100% sure for ph1's ) there is ISOFIX mounting points on the standard passenger seat but if they have been replaced ( as they usually are ) then use the OEM three point seat belt as you'd normally use. As above, the passenger airbag can be turned off using the ignition key as James mentioned.

Happy hunting :salut:

Im in peterborough, thanks for the info. Ive had a good read through the buyers guide and it was very useful.
One thing i wondered also was how quick they feel to drive? Like how would they compare to an e46 m3 for example.

Welcome to the forum and best of luck with your hunt. the best advise we can give is to sign up as a full member as there is invaluable information on most of the uk cars avaliable to our members.

They are slower if your comparing to an E46 M3. The M3 is the better car in almost every respect. In terms of pace think more like the 2litre clio (the v6 is a little faster though).
Its the leftfield, exotic, fun factor where the v6 beats most cars hands down and I don't think can be bettered in the price bracket.

The v6 power is very linear so the sensation of speed is not massive, but it is still a quick little car.

Yeah I never think its that quick, but when I take people out they think its fast. But as Duncan says, the Vee's not really about out and out pace. Go have a drive of one and you'll see/feel what an occasion it is

As for car seats, no problem. My 3yr old loves it. He eggs me on more than anyone to be honest.
