Hi, I'm Si/Simon. Some of you may recognise me from ClioSport/maybe some other forums too. Who knows!?

I currently own a 172...

Whilst I love and it ticks all the day-to-day boxes I get increasingly frustrated with trying to keep it looking its best, running its best etc. when driving it all year round, parking next to idiots in car parks etc.

I'm hoping to trade it in for a commuter box and then begin the hunt for a Vee over the next year.

I just want something I can keep nice and take out only when I really want to. I also like the rarity of the Vee and how it's quite a bit more special than your average hot-hatch. I'll prob be quite a quiet member for now at least, just whilst i'm doing my research. Hopefully I'll have reason to shout if I do eventually find the one for me!

Cheers.

I'm half tempted to keep it as the daily but I'd still want to look after it!

Thanks for the welcome.

Gorgeous mate.

Was thinking about selling the Trophy and getting a 172 Monaco but can't part with it.

Welcome to v6Clio.net Si :approve:

Great to have you along with us. Any info you can't find, please just ask.

As said already... lovely looking Monaco you have there!

Thanks again for the warm welcome.

Pretty jealous of the Lunar. Talked a friend into getting a Lunar R26.R over RB. Was definitely the right choice. There were a lot of primer jokes, mind.

Thanks for the comments on the car too. If only you could see it at the moment! Ha.

Very nice 172 pal. Like you, i came from cliosport havig owned two 172's and a 182 before purchasing the vee. You will not regret the upwards step :)

Different cars entirely as i do miss my 172 cup for throwing it around some good B roads, but driving the V6 feels like an 'event' each time.

Any preference as to mk1 1 or 2 Vee?

Nick

Thanks again for the welcome.

I know what you mean about the chuckable nature of the 1*2s. I went from a 106 gti to a brief spell with a Leon Cupra R. It was that characteristic that I missed, as a result I ended up with the Clio.

As for mk1 or mk2... Prob a mk2 if possible.

Howdy Si ... and welcome to v6clio.net :approve:™

I've never quite been brave enough to take my Vee across to the island, though obviously not a problem on the main deck. It'd probably enjoying that bit nearer to France tho' ;).

Hi Andy! I think we may have kinda met once. Well... I was at a CS meet with Dan and he spoke to you for a bit at least!

I wouldn't really recommend coming over here just for driving reasons. There are a few nice roads but they're all more like gravel tracks at the moment.

I too had a 106 gti before the clio's. Probably the best handling hatchback i have ever driven. It did have nearly £1,000 worth of suspension mods though so it handled like it was on rails (I went for the full bilstein setup inc ARB bushes etc).

Back to the vee, you should find everything you need to know on here. It helped me out massively before buying mine (which i bought from a member on here). Any idea on time frame to buy?

If you ever want a blast out in mine then let me know!

Cheers

Nick

Thanks again, guys! It was Ali's thread on CS that led me here.

Nick, I may well take you up on that offer! I can't say I've ever been in one. :(

I loved the 106. I'd like one again one day. A decent one is more expensive than a Clio now! Should never have sold. You weren't ever on pgac, were you?

As for time frame... no idea yet really! I don't want to rush into anything as I want it to be a keeper. Have a few things to sort first. Just trying to get knowledge of what to look for before I jump into anything.
