New battery

Can anyone recommend the best type of battery to get, preferably one I can just walk in a buy from a shop such as Halfords etc.. Cheers all :)

Aren't they an 065? Pretty sure thats what I put on mine as the 21 uses the same unit.

Order online from Eurocarparts, to collect. Will be cheaper than walk-in and they do discount codes on occasion for another good chunk off. Avoid Halfrauds, super expensive!

If you don't use the car too much, batteries tend to fail so halfrauds g/tee can be quite useful as they don't seem to argue too much! Several owners on here tend to get a 'free' new battery on an all but annual basis!! :approve:

Cheers Dave. I've got the choice of a 027 £84 or an 075 £78,
both made by Lion Battery's. Will either do?

The next choice is a Bosch (027 and 075) for another £40. Both come with 3 year guarantees.

Edit: The Father's Day discount (35%) brings it down to a far more palletable £50 :)

i bought a yuasa elite 100t 680 amps 70ah to replace a lower powered one (550 amps 62ah I think) which the previous owner bought but lasted less than a year even on a trickle charger.
This has been great. not on a trickle charger but started once every 5 weeks over the winter to charge up the battery. so depends how long you want to leave the car between charge ups as to how low you go on the ratings. Also I believe the amps relates to the start up power and the V6 is a biggish lump hence I went 680amps
