What colour are the calipers meant to be not sure if there are meant to be painted or just plan...

I've got a Illiad Blue ph 2 v6, and was going to get the brakes rebuilt as before i had it the rear discs and pads were done.
When i spoke to SG Motorsport said that if not done right rears can stick on..

But what colour to get them power coated in once done or painted then rebuilt!!

There's one for sale on piston heads in the same colour and with yellow fronts (cant really see the backs)

What do you guys think or recommend, what colours have you used if you've had them powdered coated your self's..

Really would be great to hear back from your selfs as in few months time car will be used for my mates wedding :)

It's all down to personal preference really. Some people on this forum don't like reds or yellows and went for the OEM black when they repainted them. I've got a Titanium Vee and had mine painted red.

ah ok cool, cheers..

Is there any pic's you know of where i can see what other chaps have done to there calipers :)

Was black the colour they went after to much heavy driving :race: [smilie=yay.gif]

Wasnt sure black would stick out to much, i was thinking silver 1. due to the wheels 2. as the air ducts are in silver also..

Cheers

I just recently did mine (in the summer just gone) and went through the same thoughts. I asked the general thought on here too. I started to paint them yellow and was going to put black 'AP Racing' stickers on (available on ebay). But after giving them a couple of coats I decided they just didnt look right for my tastes and then re-did in gloss black with yellow 'AP racing'. I also replaced the bleed nipple covers and painted the bleed nipples & metal pipes silver. Obviously I stripped cleaned and re-greased all the pads etc while i was at it. I also matte blacked the hub part of the discs and polished the inside of the rims.

As Matt says they weren't painted from new, the rears on mine (ive had from new) were a dark green/grey colour and fronts satin black.

Im pleased with the results of mine. Especially as they were brush painted. Black calipers on a BG car. The end finish was pretty dam good, even if I do say myself!

But as the guys say its your choice

yeah i was thinking silver, but i was gonna get them sprayed as wasn't sure how'd there look brushed, wouldn't want the brush marks to show but depends on how good you are with a paint brush... lol

Was gonna do the backs to match the front in what ever colour i used but at the mo could be silver or black [smilie=yay.gif]

And IAN HOSK, do you have any pic's up on here so i can have a nosy at them.. How do the backs look with the front or as there similar colour a good match :)

Thinking i'd like to go silver as few bits are silver! but could twist my arm if the black looks good just wasn't sure that it'll look none OEM...

:salut:

Silver looks like it hasn't got the cup pack...

Only kidding, silver or black to be neat and discreet, but then the car is hardly discreet is it so can get away with red or yellow easily

I think black looks best, but mine are red and my last ones were blue.

Im gonna paint mine black one of these days.

i did both back and fronts in the gloss black so they now match unlike OE where they kinda dont!

I'll take a pick or two over the weekend for you.

Did they do a clio cup??? What was the difference!!

I wanna try and keep a colour combo, as going red or yellow may stand out to much but perfect if you got a yellow or red VEE lol

IAN HOSK, If you could that'll be great cheer..

And LIQUID, cheers for the pic.. And is that new discs and pads ready for this year [cmilie=iconcheers.gif]

On another note what pads and discs do you all use? Standard!!!
