Need Help Quick! Which Coil is no. 6

Tim

New Member
In the process of changing coil no 6 with a mate here but not sure which one is 6 ie is it on the left or right as you look down at the engine standing att he back of the car???

If anyones online that can help please!

Tim, not many on here at the mo eh, and I dont know my arse from my elbow when it comes to stuff like that.. sorry I cant help bud.

So no one knew where Coil/Cylinder 6 was....

Wouldn't need to be in an emergency....

Cheers Scott for answering the phone on a Saturday evening and pointing me to the right one...!

Firing order: 1 - 6 - 3 -5 - 2 - 4

How that equates to which position you are standing I have no idea. One of the technomagic guys will know I guess.

Had someone known what way they are numbered they would have posted. Just as Bouvier has now done.

Found this in the gallery

If you are doing the coil change yourself the easiest way to find which coil has failed, leave the car ticking over, unclipping one coil at a time using a stubby flatbladed screwdriver until you find the one which does not affect the engine note / running.

On a mark 2 it is

1 2 3 (front of car)

4 5 6 (rear of car)

So 6 is rear of the car on drivers side ie nearest part of the engine as you stand at the back of the car.

Confirmed with Renault when I went through 8 coils in as many weeks!!

Hope this helps.

Chris
