My Renault 19 TSE 1.4 energy (E6J)

Hello everyone.

I bought my car in February 2008 for € 500 (£ 435).
It had 147,000 kilometers (91,341 miles).

Currently has 153,700 kilometers (95,500 miles).
It is a little used car was bought for love and not by necessity.

I like the fact of having a color difficult to find a renault 19, as well as the interiors in beige / brown and not having seat belts in the back seat.

My aim is to gradually restore the ills of his 21 years of life, and keep it in good condition to get records it as classic car at the Automobile Club de Portugal (ACP)

[BREAK=Engine Bay]

The engine suffered some intervention.
The timing belt broke and I decided to change everything I could. 8 new valves, new water pump, new belt tensioner, oil, filters, etc ...
The pipes of the cooling system, thermostat and temperature valve are new. The suspension is all new, and many other small things.

The interior is not in very good condition. As it is beige / brown, it is difficult to find and buy replacement parts at Renault is too expensive for my wallet.

I do not know if it's the quality of the plastic sign of age or sun exposure, but I have many plastics crumbling.

[BREAK=New 16v wheels]

I've bought four brand new 16v wheels and tyres from a friend of in the Renault 19 Clube de Portugal fórum.

My goal in the car is still to keep it as original as possible, but the oportunity arose and i thought that this could be an incentive to buy a Renault 19 16v.... has been further!

In the future, the TSE will get back to the tiny '13 wheels ;)

Thank You all for the comments.

I have an extensive history, photos and DIY of my car in the Forum R19 Portugal, but its all in portuguese, and I dont have much time to translate all of it.

good upgrade! what else are you planning to do? Do you have the hub caps?

Im planing to buy a 16v!!!:twisted:

This 1.4 TSE is to mantain as original as possible.

It has some features that make it special. Still left to the Portuguese market with no seat belts in rear seats, engine carburetor, brown interior (rare in Portugal) as well as its exterior color.
For the time (late 80s) has some interesting extras for a car of this segment.

It is a car to keep for many years.

I'm looking for a good Renault 19 16v... but here are rare and far more expensive than in the UK ... I'm looking for a Phase 1, three doors or a cabriolet .... a good one here will cost at least 3000 pounds.:eek:

its a rare colour everywhere, i have a saloon here in the same colour with the rare brown interior too, my plan for it is the same, keep it 100% original, i shall put up a pic or two of my own
