my 1st v6 at last

EEE007

New Member
Hello, not new to forum but just got my 1st V6
Phase 1 silver 2003 , 30k miles.
Bodywork seems all ok, wheels gave been refurb and good job

Interior needs some work on silver door handles
Problem not showing fuel consumption
Service history from 2005-2011.
I will get the 2nd cambelt done as due next yr and I will have piece of mind
The only thing I don't like with it is tinted windows but I'm sure I can get them stripped back to standard without to much cost.
Drive it 175 miles back home today in traffic, motorway and A/B roads , wet and dry. Slow and fast.
Seems to handle extremely well, not as tail happy as a BMW 3/5 series with same power.
The noise , woo hoo it reminds me a little of my friends early Porsches . Very addictive , how old am I , 47 going on 21 ;-))

Congrats!! Happy days!

a simple dash reset should sort that:

To access this, with the ignition off press and keep hold of the button at the end of the stalk and turn the ignition on. All the dashboard warning lights will come on and the speedo and rev counter will go through a predefined sequene.
When your doing this though (you can let go of the button at the end of the stalk) ever time you press the stalk button the digital readout will show information (listed below) each time you press the button some more information will show.

All the lights lit (shows if you have a failed LED).

The amount of fuel left in the tank in litres.

Fuel flow (the engine has to be running). This is in liters per hour

Stored faults
t mean an injection fault has been detected for a minimum of 4 seconds
J means a fault has been noted on the fuel gauge. It must have disconnected for longer than 100 seconds. The resistance from the fuel tank sensor needs to be between 5 and 350 Ohms.
d means an injection signal fault has been detected
h means an oil level sensor fault has been detected. Resistance from the sensor should be between 6 and 20 Ohms. Any reading over 20Ohms is an open cicuit anything under 3 is a short circuit.

If no faults are logged then dashes will show fixed dashes.
Press the reset button to clear the logged faults. Other faults arn't shown on the display.

One last thing to stop it turn the engine off or move the key to the off position.

Congratulations on your new purchase Iain, and welcome to v6 Clio ownership..! Looks like you've found yourself a nice one there :approve:

It's not 100% but ill sort that , it's still nearly 10 yrs old so allowance made and price was right in my opinion
Thanks
Will upload some photos when I get chance next week

Iain

Congrats, had mine a week and love it. Have the same fuel consumption gauge problem and the reset didn't work for me do let us know how you get on if you could :)

Well did the reset by holding in button on wiper stalk and then turning ign on , waited till tacho and speedo needles both went back to 0 after a few mins of "various out of sync moves" then pressed button on dash itself which resets and you get mileage reading , took for spin and now readin mpg etc. 19.7 mpg round local ! Giving it stick ;/))

Two things to learn here -
1) This forum is full of invaluable information, without which many V6's might be in a much worse state.
2) As above
