MOT Fail - Front Spring (KW)

Rossington

New Member
Just failed today's MOT on front spring deciding it wants to be snapped.
I've taken the car back whilst i explore where to find a new set from as to be fair i SORN it in October usually anyway.
As im using KW's, is there anywhere that does replacement springs without having to spend the full £1500 - £1600 on a set here :

As a last resort, ebay lists these which ive not heard of. Can anybody comment on quality of car with them? To be fair, the KWs have been amazing, the car really is on rails with them.
No slip at the back end what so ever through the bends.

Don't panic mate. kW will sell you replacement springs. Get the same Spring rate and change both springs on that axle.

Ball park figure is £60 a spring. Something like that :)

ohh thanks for that, genuinly didnt think they still did them.
Spoke to them, putting this link here for anybody else reading this in time :

Just need the details now of the actual springs, im half confident the receipt for the full kit is still in my owners book etc with everything else so should be able to get this done tonight.
Going to take thr hit and replace all four springs to be honest, dont fancy paying the labour charge again if another goes plus me and Mick are doing a trackday soon so no need to risk me thinks.

Mind if I ask how many miles these particular KW's have done. Have heard of a few KW failings now on what are very low milage cars. I'm in a position where I'll need coilovers soon and would rather try a local suspension specialist if it turns out KW are a little less robust than first thought.

KW changed the spring rate in the last few years...FYI. My second set runs stiffer springs (apparently)

The manual for the original springs shows they were fitted in November 2010 whilst a quick cross reference against the cars mileage back then shows 34k for October 2010s MOT so they've done 16k as the cars just tipped over 50k. I've traced my cars history back to its beginning and spoken to most of the owners, i know its not been used massively and spent a lot of its life tucked away which is a shame so either the KWs are garbage or my driving style's garbage (or both).

If i were you, i wouldnt bother in terms of mileage unless the warranty was really good however having said that, you'll comfortably leave another V6 for dead on a B-Road if it were to run OEMs. Depends what your after from your car.
