does retro really mean the earliest registered? i thin the actual retro renault vibe is more based on the most factory perfect renault, as it came from the factory back in the day, if that was the case id love to nominate the bishop for that but i have one or two more things to do to make her completely factory
i know bishop is only a 1.4 saloon from 94 but with such a unique interior and exterior i think shes destined to be a true retro renault, 1 owner from new, only modifications carried out was a respray of the rocker cover. to me retro will always be a preserved original cos you could have a 2.0 16v 88-89 r19, while it may be better than mine and truly awesome it aint truly retro

retro is old but well kept IMO. A mint MK2 escort with a cosworth YB or redtop would still be retro in my book even thought they did'nt leave the factory like that. using your statement my car wont be retro when finished engine and gearbox are from other 19's wings are brand new. even your car has a non orignal door.
i was referring to my r19 saloon and to a lesser extent the cabby, the clio is a complete mongrel, dont get me wrong i have nothing against altered cars either but my image of an actual retro machine would be something oldish that looks like it did when the first guy bought it way back when
Anything with a YB lump is retro, the newest thing that had them fitted is what 15 years old now. Still nearly a 30 year old development that with the original manifold struggled to stay under 300 bhp. Mike and Keiths company done good work.
