More Power?

What can be done to the Mk1 V6 to give it more power? Exhaust, Filter, etc etc. And what about supercharger kits? Who does the conversion? Ive seen the supercharged V6 on you tube. It looks awsome!

Also what is the mod difference between the MK1 and the MK2? What gives the MK2 the extra 25bhp?

Mike T will be the best man to advise. You won't get much from just a filter and exhaust on the Clio. so for big power got to be cams, supercharger or turbo I'd reckon.

Main difference is revised inlet, gearing etc on the Mk2 for extra power and increase in speed.

MK1 to mk2. MK2 has different profile cams, inlet plenum and injectors are different and ecu has been tweaked to match more air/fuel.

To get more power from a mk1 you would need lage induction kit - piperX evo, full exhaust with manifolds (sports cats if you dont want to mess around each year) and re-map. For that lot you will be looking around 1500. Extensive tuning will be the mk2 inlet, cams and sleeved TWR heads, and motec ecu around 5-6k rough estimate. Hence not alot of people tuning them other than back box / filter.

See Scott at SG motorsport prob the most knowledgable guy for tuning the vee. Keep an eye out for 2nd parts, the forum and ebay.

I don't think MikeT would mind me quoting that he "could have bought a GT2 for the money he'd spent."
I hasten to add that this was prior to the recent launch of the £130k 997 GT2, but Mike's recent "off" may well get him nearer... [smilie=icon_eek.gif]
